Chains

Just looking at @PHILinFRANCE pics and noticed his chain on his bonny is on the right... on my 765 its on the left ... i never took notice of this before , aren't most on the left ..

Went through some pics my triumph 1200 speed twin was on the right.... triumph speed triple 1200rs is on the left 

why is this , why are they on different sides

It’s to do with gender.

Yeah those of a more rainbow persuasion have their chains on the right or they just go for belt drive, it's a subtle way they can tell those who are from those who aren't

Belt drive on the left is the ultimate expression of masculinity. Chain on the right means non binary
