Received and recall notice now for the engine...the dreded 6.2 l engine..that might be replaced also now...

It's still under warranty num skull...you figure buying something new..a get a few hundred thousand km trouble free..that's not the case anymore...built quality has gone down the drain...including all manufacturers...even Toyota tundras are having engine fail at and alarming pace... Even if I wanted to trade it now..no one wants to touch those at the moment....I'd have to practically give it away... GM are still trying to figure out a fix for the engine at the moment ..they are sending bulletin to increase oil vicosity to 0 / 40....instead of the 0/20. YamaHead
Weird coincidence....my 9y/o Chevy Equinox gave up the ghost a block away from the dealer I was driving to yesterday. The Mrs. & a coupla by standing girls pushed it to the service dept....damn car wouldn't let me out to help push unless it was in Park! Just got a call back from the Service Mgr.....the fuel pump has been leaking & the fuel level sensor also broke, so now I'm making due w/ my 34 y/o truck that fortunately, is as reliable as a Timex watch...while I wait for back-ordered parts to show up. Already looking at $2k for a bill. So glad it waited till we got back from our recent 3400 mile road trip before it took a dive. I'd much rather look after my 2 old trucks that are much easier to diagnose problems when they occur. Couldn't agree more with what was stated earlier....Build quality flat out SUCKS on anything made after '04 or so....Far too many sensors, switches & other electronic BullSh*t!!

Don't even think domestic car manufacturers are making cars anymore ...all suvs and trucks...including many imports also..its a different world around here..open wild country, no lights on the roads , winter time , blizzard that come out of no-wheres...sure if I lived in a big city center I'd definitely be driving a car ...I couldn't imagine myself driving a festiva with 1200 lbs mooses roaming the roads at night...simply scary has hell... Yes definitely agree with you on anything built after 04 , that ls engine was known has a reliable engine...not any more...I guess cranks were out- source by some other manufacturers and tolerances are messed up on most of the 6.2 l ...they are seizing up or connecting rods going right through the block... Aberdeen car was and 2017 equinox less than 3 years-old at the time with under 60 k on the odo...2.4 l engine and the timing chain skipped... I can live with the odd sensor going bad or even a fuel pump after 9 years...but having transmission and engine exploding on practically new vehicles...I just hope GM figures something out , and not just a patch job and I'll be left with a ticking time bomb on my hands...lol. Marcel
Some of you might be thinking...why not electric vehicles, even thoe are liberal gooberment is trying to push still this idea and are trying to phaze out gaz powerd with in 10 years...it's just not practically or even remotely possible around here...what you would call of a somewhat big city is located 2.5 hours , close to 300 km away...in winter time at -20 c you'd be lucky to make it halfway...think there is now a telsa charging unit located halfway if I'm not mistaken... .
