  1. Tomorrow, Thursday, I begin the ride back to Colorado, Will take 2 days to get there and I'll overnight in Columbia, Missouri at Todd's house - he's the guy on the Ducati that I often take trips with. We'll drink too much and plan our trip to Canada later this summer. Might get out around town today and get some pics of the area....
  2. I saw these tiny homes under construction in Kentucky. I'd need two of these in my backyard as I have a sister-in-law to house as well as a friend of ours that's going to need somewhere to live. Should be easy enough to knock a couple of these out in short order. Gotta see if zoning would allow it though....
  3. The inside has already ready been gutted and is now ready for interior framing and drywall. Run a bit of electrical and plumbing first and Bob's yer uncle ...
  4. And have been looking at retirement homes in Ohio as well. Found this one for $49,000 - needs a bit of work but I could most of it myself....
  5. Rode past one of my old dormitories at Ohio University. Shit place to live back in the 80's ...
  6. Gas light was on again when I stopped for fuel. I looked it up and the bike actually holds 5.25 US gallons - not 4 as I was told. Still, the light comes on when it has used 4 gallons so I guess the rest is considered reserve. Still, shit capacity / range for a tour bike...
  7. I haven't been doing too much, really. Yesterday, I rode from Ohio to Moorhead, KY and had lunch with my old college roommate. 550 miles round trip and didn't take too many pics at all. Was a fun ride though, cursing through the hills of Ohio, West Virginia and Kentucky....
  8. How much weight do you haul in it? Show us a pic of it fully loaded if you can,
  9. Range is one thing but the bike is just too small for me physically. I sit too far forward and there's not shit for leg room. ADV bikes are better built for me as far as size goes. Wings are made for small guys - around 5'8" or so.
  10. They're not so bad and have their place. But I don;t think I'd buy another one.
  11. Nope - you're fucked.
  12. Slept in today as the ride to Ohio is relatively short - 4 hours / 300 miles.. Will get going in awhile and stop by my bud's house on the way outta town.
  13. Saved the night with a few old reliables at the hotel bar though. Cheap as chips here in Indy as compared to back home. $5 a bottle here and $8 in Colorado...
  14. Dinner was burgers at a local spot last night - nothing spectacular there. Had a bourbon barrel aged beer with dinner. Worst shit I ever had. Trendy beer with a weird flavor of honey, vanilla and bourbon. 11% alcohol was nice though. Since they messed up our order, we got a free round of the same beers. So I had to drink 2 of these crap beers. $12 a bottle too - not worth it.
  15. I don't really care about the costs - it's just a pain to have to stop so often. I think maybe they're made for older guys who don't ride at higher speeds that affect the mileage so much. Can't think of any other reason why it'd have such a small tank and limited range.
  16. Out for dinner and beers in a bit - will try to get some pics if anything seems interesting. More later.......
  17. But, made it to Indy and stopped to see my buddy Clint. The Ferrari that we brought back from Texas last year is going to paint this week. Then he'll do the final assembly in a couple of weeks. Can't wait to see it done ...
  18. Bought fuel, fuel and more fuel today. This really gets tedious on a long ride....
  19. A few hours later, stopped to catch the sunrise. Looked better than yesterday, but still not too bright....
  20. Had to fill me up as well. Dining al fresco next to the bike....
  21. First stop was the QT Mart to fill up the thirsty pig. First of many fill ups today...
  22. On the bike at 4:30 this morning. The good news is - it didn't float away after last nights rain....
  23. Just wheeled into Indianapolis . Destination i9n Ohio is only 4 hours away so that'll be easy. Tonight is gonna be tough - out to dinner and drinks with my buddies here in town for the night.
  24. Nah - normal waking hours for me. It's 4:15 AM now as I'm headed out the door. Horrible rains storms here last night - hope the bike didn't float away!
