The Naunton lanes , in memory of James Higgs RIP
Sir Fallsalot replied to boboneleg's topic in DAY RIDES
Will do Bob -
The first brand new bike i ever bought was a 1993 Africa Twin, i went into my local Honda dealer pointed at it in the brochure and said i want that one, it took a month to arrive and i wasn't disappointed when i took it out for the first time it was one of the best feeling of my life. Every other bike i had to test ride mainly because they were second hand and i wanted to make sure they were mechanically good. The XTrainer i never had a test ride on either but i did have a go on one when they were first introduced which i think was in 2016 and have been dreaming about one ever since LOL

I think his funeral turnout is going to be huge, i know the TRF are planning something and the TET riders will be involved as well as he created a lot of it -

I'm taking a leaf out of your book so when you start putting up bike photos i will Seriously though i'm pissed off with myself for how much of my life i'm wasting on line so going to try to ween myself off it to do more productive things. I've let so much around the house slip because i'm sat in front of a keyboard and this is what i mean i'm sat here typing this and i should be putting my boots on to go to work LOL

The stock suspension is far better than the previous one and i thought the performance was better as in it picked up quicker and throttle response was crisper but then i remembered i had gone up one tooth on the front sprocket on the old bike i don't know what it is but everything feels better when riding it. It's definitely taller even though the spec says it's not and changing the back end of it to make it the same as the RR model has benefitted it with an air box that keeps the crap out the old old one was totally crap, if it was wet and muddy the air filter would need cleaning almost every ride. I am very happy with my decision to change the bike wish it was in the old colours though LOL I have to pick up some rad guards hopefully this weekend to finish off the protection and then i might invest in a few luxuries like a seat concepts seat and a proper LED headlight for it like a Baja designs squadron pro but those will cost around £700 so still on a wish list for now

I'm not sure if there's a TTRO on it at the moment it might be for just 4 wheel vehicles for the bit where he fell in to be repaired.

You were very wise Bob, It amazes me how many people don't realise that the state pension is just a fixed rate everyone gets the same if they have worked long enough and paid into the system, it's not like the pension schemes in European countries and to compare them is unrealistic as they are calculated in different ways, I've known for the last 30 years how much state pension i will receive if i stayed employed so it's no surprise to me how much or should i say how little i will be receiving, its not enough for me to carry on the way i live now and i did start a private pension in my early 20's to compensate for that but i was lied to by the pension company and stopped paying into it or any other as i didn't trust any of the fuckers. Then i fell into that "I've got no money trap" where i told everyone i had no cash to save as i was just about keeping my head above water but looking back i always had cash for beer bikes and weekends away so i got no real excuse and hold my hand up and say i haven't really prepared for it the best way i could but i can say I've enjoyed the way I've lived my life and hopefully will keep on enjoying it up until i retire and then i will have to see what has to change. I think todays working generation will be much better prepared than ours as everything seems more out in the open and you can't be ripped off as easily as it was when i started a pension, We have been advising our kids to start preparing for their future for a few years now i can never remember anyone telling me that when i was younger i just done it off my own back.
