My CRF1000 is the first bike that I've owned with ABS or traction control, loads of people moan about the TC being too intrusive when it first came out and turn it off. I don't know how their riding but i have never felt it intrude where it shouldn't but it has taken the wind out of my sails a few times when trying to get some air over a humped back bridge or when trying to impress some chicks with a wheelie that never happened lol. Personally if i could of got the bike without it all i would have but the non ABS model didn't come to the UK

I see you are getting more adventurous ? I was going to say use the side stand but you had already sussed it out and yes i usually carry a fold up saw but at 25 deg i don't think i would have bothered to use it and turned around as well

I've had one on my bike for 3 years, like you say i cant really notice a draft in hot weather but can certainly feel it in cold weather so there is air passing around down there. I originally fitted it to cover up the poor gel insert job i done on the spare seat but really like the look of it so would leave it on anyway
