If one of my household told me they were getting a Beemer I'd kick them square in the nuts. Breakdowns involving self igniting egr valves, limp mode due to gear change position faults. Most of the older ones along with some mercs and VWs are being bought up by the immigrants and chavs who promptly remove the DPFs turning them into even more unreliable polluting bags of stinking crap. Most cars built between 1996 and 2006 were some of the best ever, that has long since passed.

Or a pug, or a fiat.

I had a bit of black guttering screwed to the wall once. It hid everything perfectly although I did have to buy some longer leads. I've now got our tele where the old fire place was and put some drain pipe with a 90 at each end in with the brick work. Once again I had to get some longer leads but there's not a wire in sight.

Thanks for the ride Pedro, excellent report. Felt a little emotional for you reading some of that. My favourite pic.

Just collected Mandi from the train station. Says she's very tired after chatting to a gay couple till 3 in the morning.

Is that just tea bags?

Thought you'd taken a back seat from rugby, health reasons? If so be careful, we're all getting older.

I knew a local builder who had some classic cars many moons ago. He'd cut squares of carpet to put under each tyre, he said to stop the contact with the cold concrete. Don't really understand why but it seems lots of people do it. Prob more important now with the modern less resistant compounds.

Yes to carpets and a battery conditioner. I too never normally bother with all that but it seems so much more unlikely they'll be emerging from the sheds over winter so I should consider some measures. Mandis CBF and my tracer both need MOTs but it's a bit chilly out there so might let them expire and sort later.

Mandi just said, "I'm going to check the trains are running ok or you'll be taking me to London.

Getting itchy knowing there's a few miles to travel, I'm like that too.

I don't sleep too well and I now have a 24 hour Southpark channel which isn't helping.

Watch the South Park episode first.

We had a lay in, met the boys and our 2 grand girls dinner time for some food. She watched a girly film this afternoon, then went for a walk with her ex boss. We're now well oiled with alcohol and cooking steak. Oh and I'm crying chopping onions.

Have you seen the whole episode

I've got a good lump of the weekend to myself as Mandi's off to London meeting daughter to see the Abba show. Sat afternoon I'll may be reassembling the capri gearbox and then there will prob be some drinking and music giving me Sunday morning to recover and collect Mandi from Norwich train station. Did I mention daughter had her driving test Thursday, failed for driving to slow and 1 minor. Needless to say she's gutted and we've now got a car sitting on the boys drive till she gets sorted. Boy said, "she can't be from our family for driving to slow". Her instructor said it's a very common fail.
