Just had a quick look on google myself Yes it was the cats paw tyres on my XL. That had a 23 inch front wheel and at the time you couldn't get much else. Can't remember who made them as what you see now are copies.

Think I had them on the front of my xl250s.

At the age of thirteen a mother of a friend told me I could have, one like this, if I got it off the driveway. Stuck an Allegro 1100cc engine in with a Cooper head and gearbox, still slow. After that was the normal Cortinas and fiestas etc. Nothing as bad as your lot. Hated being seen in the Herald as it was a dog, plod kept catching me in the Viva so that had to go. Actually they took it off from me. Had lots of fun in the Hornet though, posh mini.

As a helpful note, I always take the calliper off before the wheel as a lot of the time you'll catch it with the wheel rim when removing. Paint is pants now days, chips n scratches easy. Ready for part 2.
