When I bought my MT09 eighteen months ago the insurance cost was around £850. I did discuss putting it on a multi bike policy with my Indian when it renewed last year but they made it so complicated and turned out just as expensive and I didn’t bother. They recently emailed me with the renewal cost for the Indian and then 10 mins later with a quote on the Yamaha, which isn’t due until Sept. I called them to ask why the second quote and after some prevarication they came back to admit they had dropped a bollock and we’re about to renew both on a multi bike and cancel the existing Yamaha policy without my instructions and if I hadn’t called it would have just gone through automatically. They then offered to go with the multi bike for both, total cost just over £240 fully comp. The Indian alone was £450 last year. I didn’t question anything, just paid there and then. Confirmation arrived by email 15 mins later which a carefully checked for errors, all ok, yay!

My wife is fit as a butchers dog, if I had to put more than 20p on which one of us would be a dribbling vegetable first I’d be backing me.

She certainly isn’t short of opinions. I have to keep reminding myself that a lot of this is her dementia talking, but it’s bloody hard. Our new dog has been a joy throughout this living purgatory, I think he’s the only think keeping us sane.

I doubt she would want to. She views this country as some sort of third world state. On being discharged from hospital she asked if we could arrange for her to see some proper doctors, apparently those who treated her inc the nursing staff ( who were brilliant), weren’t qualified as they came from all sorts of weird countries.

My worse nightmare She only has right to be here for 3 months, currently in month 2. On day 91 im going to be straight on to immigration to dob her in.

I know how you feel. I have MiL here at the moment. She was due to fly home on 2nd Jan but couldn’t as we had to call the ambulance at 2 am on the 1st as she was haemorrhaging blood from umpteen gastric ulcers caused by the meds she was taking. Her dementia has got three times worse, she’s partly incontinent and a full time job for 2 of us to look after. The hospital won’t certify her as fit to fly until the end of the month. I cannot bloody wait, tho my ski trip is screwed Every day feels like it’s 48 hrs long….

It’s pretty much the only sport I’m good at. As I only have a finite number of years left before I’m too decrepit to enjoy it I’m taking every opportunity. The place I go to has empty slopes so you can really hammer along. That said I did bust one of my vertebra 2 years ago, I carried on skiing and didn’t know I’d done it until I went for an MRI for something else a couple of months later only to be asked by the consultant if I’d been in a car crash recently. I’m rebooked for end of feb to get my back done.

I was supposed to have my spine op tomorrow but it’s been canceled . Too many people with flu and RVS or some such thingy. On a positive note that does mean I can go skiing at the end of the month which I thought I would miss.

The meter is the responsibility of the utility provider, as is the connection between the intake head and the meter. The box/ housing is your responsibility as can be the back board. If the utility provider is telling you different they are a bunch of lying shysters.

Ordered thanks, you only need this stuff once in a blue moon but when you need it you need it … and it’s bloody annoying when you haven't got it.

Possibly the most inappropriately named tool ever. They never bloody work. Tried to extract a mangled screw this afternoon ( not on a bike), half an hr buggering about with the extractor in the end gave up and drilled it and wound it out with mole grips. Has anyone ever actually successfully extracted anything with an easy out, if so what brand did you use? Maybe mine are just shit.

It’s snowing! It’s really chucking it down! Prob a couple of inches so far, tho it feels quite wet so might turn to rain at some point. New doggie thinks it’s great, can’t bloody get him inside, racing around in it like he’s had a triple espresso and a dose of speed.

If I’d have known it would annoy people I’d have posted photos of it ages ago …

My poor 125 had gone through a string of owners and L plates. Someone had fitted shitty after market levers, the clutch basket was knackered and it juddered on letting the clutch out, the back caliper was draggy, it had been dropped at least once … but amazingly it still had the OEM can. I enjoyed it despite 12hp having to drag my 100kg about in slow motion…

I started out on a Honda 125, really liked it , as much as you can like 12 hp I pitched up at a dealership to test ride a CB1000 but got refused because I had too many points on my licence, buy Yamaha were happy to let me have a go on theirs so I ended up with a Yamaha

I think it’s basically an MT09 with extra bits on and a tricked up suspension. I really like my 09 but I did find myself idly flipping through autotrader bikes wondering what I could chop it in for. Probably more of a reaction to the blah blah blah of whatever inane garbage my MIL was watching on the idiot box than a real desire to change it tho.

…I’m on the edge of my seat … Actually in bed because I’m too old and can’t be arsed to stay up another 45 mins. I’ll get woken up in a couple of hrs anyway when my son staggers in and doesn’t turn the lights on as he tries not to wake us up and then falls over the dog toys scattered around everywhere.

Mother in law staying with us at the moment. She’s stepped on the puppy 3 bloody times so far. He’s laying in front of the fire minding his own business and she seems unable to get from one side of the room to the other without treading on the poor thing. Thankfully she’s back the US on Thursday. I should be more tolerant but it’s bloody hard at times.

Have a really not posted a picture before? I don’t take many pictures of my bikes so it wouldn’t surprised me. Must admit I didn’t expect to get any votes and I’ve not voted for myself. I love the way these bikes look but I get they can be a bit marmite with people either liking or hating them.

We have an invite to a mates party however I will be the dropper off and collector and will be home in between. We have a puppy and I don’t know how he will react to fireworks, and can’t leave him on his own at present. He has a bladder the size of a peanut and the way he chews stuff he’s like a waste disposal unit with legs.
