  1. If you want to view it that way. They were all returned safe and sound and handled with great care when out of the water for the minimum possible time. The money I pay to be able to go do this contributes to clean ups of the rivers, breeding and stocking programs for the fish, works to encourage rare or endangered water/ water side animals and management of the overall habitat. I'd like to see it go further than it does, but without it our countryside might not be as attractive as it is.
  2. Put it back. No idea if you could eat it or not, but it’s been in a muddy river which the UK water utilities are not above occasionally dumping sewerage into. The water must be pretty clean or you wouldn’t get the amount of wildlife on and around the river that we saw but the rules are catch and release. The point of barbel fishing is that they fight so hard once hooked, very exciting and you might not see what you have hooked for quite a while.
  3. We did Home fishery, Dean and Chapter and The Old Harp … I think, all close ish to Ross on Wye, kipped at the Royal Hotel RoW. I didn’t organise it and just turned up at the what three words locations and fished. Five of us, 45 or so fish all Chub and Barbel, best Chub around 5lbs but they were all 3-5 lbs, best Barbel just under 10lbs. Just got home bloody knackered & somewhat muddy. Makes up for all the trips in the past where we have blanked or arrived to find everything flooded
  4. I’m in Herefordshire fishing the river Wye with 4 mates. Attempting to catch barbel, had 8 so far between us, been great fun, last day tomorrow.
  5. At the risk of Marcel's head exploding I took my Indian in for a service a few days ago and the grizzled tech that did it did a brief test ride on completion. He came back in and said why can't HD make an engine like that. Ive ridden loads of HD's but that is only the second FTR - I can't understand why anyone would buy a HD when Indian makes something like that.
  6. Not much fun either way. Hope it goes ok.
  7. Jeez, that isn't going to buff out. Hope she is OK ...
  8. Got to get up at 4 tomorrow morning to take my wife to the airport . Then off to the hospital for an appointment then back home to take my bike in to be serviced (in the rain ) . Just can't wait for tomorrow ...
  9. Audience looks a bit thin ...
  10. 25th, so a bit over 2 weeks, I will be 61 I still feel about 20 in my head. My back aches, ankle is a bit knackered, shoulder aches due to a pinched nerve in my neck, half of my right leg is numb, so my body doesn't quite feel 20. ... but according to my wife I act like I'm about 12 most of the time.
  11. The thunder and lightning always seems to skirt round us. It’s the only upside of going to see the in-laws in Florida, they have some really good storms. I was standing in the porch way watching a really good thunderstorm a few years back and lightning hit the ground just the other side of the garden fence. I nearly shat myself.
  12. Same here, in two weeks time .
  13. Be interested to know how you get on with that. I toyed with the idea of getting one but as the shit weather is on the horizon it’s been put off till next spring.
  14. I feel the same about watches, anything with a battery has no soul. But when I want to know what the time is it's the battery ones which are showing the right time.
  15. I have a US V8 engined fun car too in which I can pretty much see the gas tank needle move when I put my foot down. For getting from A to B everyday and doing so for £30 max a month instead of £400+ electric is great, I’m a convert. …and I’m sleeping while it is charging …
  16. That’s what I initially thought. But it’s 400+ hp 4wd , it’s brilliant fun … gets through tyres quick tho, but it’s cheap as chips to fuel
  17. I pay £30 a month for my ( car) motoring, flat rate, however much I do. I do 20k + miles a year. Octopus do £30/ month charging for however much you do. I used to pour £100+ a week diesel into my last car, this is great.
  18. Why don’t you just use a laminated plasterboard ( drywall as it’s called over there), less arse ache. https://www.buildershoponline.co.uk/Plasterboard-Plaster-Accessories/Laminated-Plasterboard/Celotex-PL4000-Insulated-Plasterboard-Laminate Or put the V B up, leave a hatch then go do it from above?
  19. Fixed my trolly jack. Hopefully the bloody thing won't piss oil all over the floor now.
  20. Meant to upload this last night … but forgot
  21. Car Fest in full swing down the road from me, listening to the music in my living room (window open) as I type this. Had fun turning petrol into noise (on 4 wheels ).
  22. Im surrounded by motorway roadworks hell. Seems everywhere has these Highways England career roadworks which take 3 years to complete and cause bloody chaos for miles around as everyone tries to find ways to get round them. And when you do get stuck in them there is no bugger working. Im riding to work as much as possible to try to get through it and spending so long on the frigging motorway my tyres are going square.
