Working all weekend but did get a trip over to the north coast today . To the Hilltop Cafe at Slaughter Bridge. Full Moon and crazies at work all weekend. Such joy.

Been turd polishing this morning. Very therapeutic. Also started my Hornet up and put it through a heat cycle.

Advice from Shadow today, as a old dude on a Harley Sportster road past the garage as I was buying fuel. "If you buy one of those you are going in a home".

Just popped out to get my fuel for the week and Shadow had to come. First time she has been pillion for a month. You can tell she is used to being in control now. Had to tell her to stop pushing into corners and follow my lead.

I think his obsession of buying new didn't help his case. Think of how many different, good bikes he could have bought used with £25K. And like you say the stuff he bought is the type of thing that crashes like a stone in residuals. Possibly with the exception of the Guzzi. Not a good time to sell a bike at the moment either. I see a couple of the older bike riding Youtubers are having a handbag fest at the moment falling out of stupidness. Something to do with BSA's but I couldn't be arsed to find out what.

She does have a phone mount on her bars and a Quadlock case, but has never used it and never had a charging cable. I'm going to get her to spend an hour with me and teach how to use it for future reference. I am chuffed she rang me first, but she would never ring her boyfriend for help that would show weakness and believe me she is in charge. She is that type of small angry female.

Had to go on a rescue mission last night. Shadow was up her boyfriends and left to head home at 21:30 only to find the main road back had been closed for work. She decided to find a way around and got lost in the lanes around Luxulyan woods. Rang me in tears and scared. I said can she go back the way she came, which she managed and found her way back to Luxulyan, buy that time I got there a different way and lead her home on the CBF. When we got home I showed her some alternative routes she could have takes on Google maps and street view. Sometimes the grown up veneer slips but it’s good to be the dad and rescue her, all over it this morning lippy and confident as ever. Was nice to have the little girl back if even only for a short time.

Today I have been mostly taking up our rotten old decking. It was becoming dangerous so had to go plus the plan is to build a decent sized bike storage shed and a smaller deck or patio to sit out on during the good weather. Rain stopped play but a start has been made. The only thing that has survived is some stainless screws. Did I mention I hate doing this sort of stuff

Yeah I grew up in a bangernomics household. My Dad always bought crap cars but always managed to keep them going until they practically dissolved. It was only in his 50's that he actually bought some decent cars as he just couldn't be arsed with make do and mend anymore. Plus things were getting more and more complicated. I'm afraid that's where I am now, I don't want a project bike ever again I just want to press the button and ride. I don't mind servicing but that's about it now.
