    Oh look!

I think his bikes are cool and unique but not 50K cool. Is it him trying to get that though or some chancer?

    Envious

My mate who recently bought a new Z900RS has just bought this 20 miles away. 22k miles and massive folder of receipts for £950. I thought about it and thought about it, sent the link to my mate, who has similar tastes, to ask his opinion, he messaged back, sorry mate it's already in the back of my van. Beat me to it the fucker, my fault for not jumping when I saw it .
  3. Me too, I think they look like bikes should. Can't see me ever owning one, I'm not about the noise or vibes or tassels but I do think a simple unspoiled Harley without the skulls and pointy tat is a very cool looking machine.
  4. Nothing exceptional really just a 40 mile run up to Damerells and back with my mate on his new Z900RS. Some really nice bikes up there and saw another CBF600. Some tidy bikes but most of them I have seen before. Doesn’t seem to matter which bike night you go to down here most of the same group to to every one. Mind you having said that I did see a really nice Harley Street Rod 750 in white and a new Trident 660 that was cool. Didn’t take many photos tonight. Dunno why really Really tidy Sportster.
  5. I don’t think it’s that common to be honest. Some bikes and models maybe but not common.

    Oh look!

    A Millyard for sale, but £50K https://ebay.us/m/yVHFjU
  7. Thanks for the input but I am not sure I can be arsed with doing the bearings myself, I have been in the shed for a month with my bike, Shadow’s bike and Fuzz Nuts Ped so I am going to get my valve check guy to do the work. He’s happy to do it so I have ordered front/rear and steering kits with NTN Japanese bearings in. It’s what he asked for.
  8. Picked up my CBF from the valve check last night. Talking to the chap in detail and he reckoned all but one of the valves were spot on in spec. I asked if he thought they had been checked recently and he wasn’t sure if the valve cover had ever been off . I said is that unusual and he said it’s Japanese and that he thought this era lower tuned Honda 600 fours were just that well built. Also that if looked after they will run to 100k or more. Don’t know if I will put another 64k on the bike but reassuring to hear. Looks like I was paranoid about the valve clearances after all but at least I know now.
  9. Yeah I watched that. Suppose she is just not used to british towns.
  10. Talk to me about bearings people need front and rear wheel bearings and some tapered steering head bearings. What brands and where to buy them? I am well out of the loop on this sort of thing. I have tried David Silver Spares and I can genuine Honda front wheel bearing and pattern Japanese rear wheel bearings from them, bit spendy, but I don't mind paying for the right stuff. I can get a Tour Max kit for tapered steering head bearings for around £50.?
  11. It's spotless now I cleaned it up before I put it back on.
  12. Had round two with the ped this morning. Fuzz Nuts phoned me last night when he got to work and said the was no improvement when the ped warmed up. But on the return journey he said the bike was fine all the way home but died when he got on the driveway. So at a guess I would think the gunk is clearing through the fuel system. And the Redex injector cleaner is doing something. Anyway took it all to bits this morning and got the throttle body off and as Bob said there is a throttle return screw. But that is never moving again unless it’s drilled out and replaced. I tried doubled nutting it but it just did the chinesium thing and stripped the threads. Cleaned the throttle body reassembled everything and set the tick-over higher on the throttle cable but not high enough to move the bike. I then left the bike running for 15 minutes until the cold start cycle finished and dropped the tick over and it didn’t stall so good enough to go for now. I am hoping with a few more runs to and fro from work for him the bike will settle down and I can back the tick over off. I suspect the new plug will also help. The saga continues.
  13. Couldn't find one but will check again when I service it. Priority was getting the thing rideable today so Fuzz Nuts can get to work.
  14. Depends on the context I suppose. not against it in theory.
  15. Fine like a rich tea biscuit, I'll post a pic when the new one comes and I swap them over.
  16. See you have made me paranoid now so I have just been out for a 5 mile run on it. Running without fault dragging my fat arse around. May have to raise the idle slightly but that is as far as I reckon it needs touching. Fuck riding a ped though what a horrible thing to do
  17. No way of doing so at the moment. I think it has decent compression though as it pulls pretty well when running like all peds it gets of the line well for 11bhp, I imagine if it were down on compression it would be very obvious. Also it's a 4 stroke can't imagine running out of fuel would damage the motor like a two stroke.
  18. The boy came home last night complaining his ped keeps dying. He had been for a long ride to Tavistock and back and run out of fuel during the trip. It’s done 15,000 km and has only had oil changes whenever I do one of my bikes as there is always enough left over to do his ped. So the oil is always pretty clean. Apart from the first service I don’t think it has been touched otherwise. Anyway it was really difficult to start and wouldn’t tick over. Not an ideal situation in a twist and go. First thing I did was check the valves which were tight. Less than 0.005 mm when they should be between 0.010 - 0.015 mm I set them loose on the max measurement. It started fine then but would still not tick over. No idle screw that I could find (fuel injected ped) so I adjusted the cable to raise the idle enough so that it wouldn’t stall. All seems good now. Rideable at least so he can get to work. I’ve put a shot of Redex injection cleaner in the tank and will do it a few more times when he fills the thing. I have ordered a service kit for it which fuzz nuts will be paying me back for also I think it will need a new drive belt in the near future so I will look into that as well. Learning stuff about peds I never wanted to but if it keeps my useless boy in employment it sort of makes sense.
  19. Just heard back from the guy who is doing my valve check. All well within spec and reckons they have probably been checked before so that is good news. Something less to worry about
  20. Seriously sticky shit that Lanoguard, the swinging arm on my CBF was covered in it when I got the bike, still some on there now 12 months and 6k later.
  21. Mmmmmnnn, Dear Boy alway had to have the best numbers, I remember his weight lifting numbers . Born olympian

    Gorran

Not much to see really just out for a gentle bimble as my grey mates were all weary of the weather so I went out for a mooch on my own. Did 40 miles down to Gorran to take some practice shots for BOM.
