Anyone remember these being advertised back in the day? I remember them coming on the market when the 125 learner laws came in so that people could still ride their 250's on L plates. I flirted with the idea of getting one to put on my XS750 so that I could ride it on L plates as I had it before I passed my test. The insurance quote killed that idea. Plus it was just easy to pass the test back then (1984).

Click n collect mate click n collect.
There’s a locker with your number on it waiting for you to pick it up on the way to/from work
That sort of talk is the route straight to the dog house for me.

Just be careful if you fit a top box as the standard racks are notoriously weak and will snap if you put too much weight on it. There are a few strengthening kits available but I’d get in touch with CoooerB Motorcycles based near Northampton as they are Enfield specialists and can provide a really good kit.
I had one on my Himalayan and it worked out well.
If you do speak to them ask for Ian and say Skippy says hello………..and start sharing your biscuits
I am sure the E5 rack is stronger rated to 15kg, but the top box isn't that big. Just some where to stash my helmet and carry my lunch, shoes and lappy to work.

Don’t knock it til you’ve tried it
Are you wearing waterproof trousers over the top? They make a difference.
And eBay (soz know you’re trying to stay off that site ) sell cheap fleece lined waterproof trousers. Payed about £15 for mine, very feckin warm.I have some Richa waterproof trousers that are lined but not very warm, but they do help. I get paid tomorrow so will explore the options, but I am starting to get that look every time another box turns up at the moment.

Looking good though eh?!
I’m a seriously frozone person so I tried a cabillion bits of bike attire promising warmth that really didn’t deliver.
I heartily recommend snowmobile suits. Designed for superfeckin freezin temps. If you get the right sort they’re waterproof too.
But they’re expensive and the second choice coming in waaaay cheaper (but does need waterproofs over the top in rainy weather) is coldstore work gear. Designed to be worn in sub zero freezers all day available cheap in all sorts of combos. Easy to get over a mobike jacket - assuming your not 5XL.I have a couple of decent warm jackets and can always layer up, it hands and legs that have been feeling the cold. I am hoping the Muffs will sort my hands just need to get some warmer over trousers. Thermals won't work for me as most of my shifts are in a warm Skoda. My Mrs had been taking the pish about getting a romper suit to go over the top like the Michelin man.

Hang around here for too long needing to wash is a given
I am learning that, all that obsessive hand washing during the pandemic has created habits

I know I am gonna have to stay off ebay. All the daft bolt on things I have been looking at that I don't need or want really. I am going to fit my top box though but that is sitting in the shed so won't cost anything.

I find the mudguard pretty good at stopping detritus getting flung up over the back.
Maybe wait n see how you find what you’ve already got?But don’t wait til your can’t undo mud caked bags before ordering
That makes total sense, embarrassed I didn't work that out for myself

I am toying with getting a hugger for my bike for the winter. Worth it or just a decoration? I will be cleaning the bike every week.

You could but the beach is way to busy to get a bike on it. Always something going on down there. Plenty of horses and such as well. Back when we were teenagers things were different.
I remember one of my mates flying over a dune on a Honda C50 and t-boning another friend on his DT 125 mid air. Nobody hurt, the only casualty was the DT's gear lever which gained a whole different angle.

No just a river leading down to the beach.

To be honest I seriously considered buying a CB500X. Good bike and I am partial to a Honda.
