@XTreme, out of curiosity, since the UK doesn't really make tea, isn't tea that doesn't pass through the UK drinkable? You'll just end up messing it up with milk anyway... Today is Sofia's birthday, I'll be riding over and having dinner with her and her dad. Might have a glass of wine or two... For now, I'm doing a little bit of work and sorting out my place before going, I'm in a shambles if when I leave not knowing when I'll come the house is left not vaccummed and tidied up. It'l gotten to a point I came back to sort it out, so might as well do it before leaving.

Talking about boots, I've recently discovered this Italian maker of motorcycle boots. www.stylmartin.it From what I gather they make boots a little in an old fashion way, with proper leather and well stitched good rubber soles, check it out. I have just bought a pair for a little more rainproof than what I had before (which was no whaterproof). They feel good so far. I like their old school motocross style boots, but can't pull those off in a fashion sense.

McGregor is known because he played Obi Wan Kenobi in Star Wars, or formerly by his role in "Trainspotting" ( a film), which is very relevant in UK culture as they really drink a lot ( I do too). He really is a great actor. He's the one with the Sidi motocross boots on the outside

Just saw that Hero's (the motorcycle manufacturer) rider Santosh has been brought back to life by a fellow competitor after a hard fall, here is him on his Hero: Last year, Paulo Gonçalves, Portugal's favourite offroad racer passed away after a crash on a Hero as well, much to the sadness of all Hero staff and Santosh himself. I'm sure there must be a case for the 450cc limit on motorcycle engines not actually working towards rider safety. If everyone is riding at 98% of engine hp capacity to be competitive, is it safer than actually riding faster and heavier bikes on looser grounds with tougher navigation as a deciding factor? Are current organizations making easier to navigate Dakars that make riders ride as fast as they can to just be competitive when before strategy and "dune skills" were the deciding factors? I don't know.

Having not tried one, I do like it.

I was there to visit, Pete, I know what you mean. But, having said that, there are plenty of places near Murcia that are authentic, and then there is Portugal even though that might have been a little bit of a stretch at the time, considering you were deciding between Spain and France. After a ride in small roads, a plate of coal grilled fish or meat, a couple of bottles of cold wine, and Portugal might just change your way ...

Nobody told you to move to the cold high plains. The coldest I've been has been in Spain, my car at the time slept outside the hotel and had ice cataracts from bumper to the ground in the morning, that's just not christian!

There are rules, Fred, and there is a natural coolness factor, everything is to be considered. It's no joke.

I think the tuck is cool sometimes, but these "sometimes" obeys to rules: Rule 1: you need to be cool to pull it off, mean @Grasshopper's Ride or Ewan McGregor can pull it off, doesn´t mean you can! Think about it, look at them, do you think you're as cool as them? Get real, more likely is you can´t be as cool as them. Look at Ewan standing next to an uncool dude, it's him making the look look cool and not the other way around, plus he's wearing Sidi motocross boots with a classy stitched sole (classy!!!) on the outside, would you wear those with leather pants? No, you wouldn't, because you're not cool like him. Then look back at Michelle standing next to an 80's Honda, she's a girl and that's an uncool bike, but that doesn't matter if you're Michelle, are you as cool? Hell no, you are not! Just be happy and celebrate our differences instead of being an uncool "tucked in". Better be the 80% cool you think you are than being uncool. Uncool isn't cool, you don't want to be uncool! Rule number 2: Most of all, more than being cool, is being yourself! And if you are yourself, it means you are cool! Michelle and Ewan McGregor are cool because they're being themselves, not because they are pretending to be cool people. That's cool, unless you're not. Rule number 3: Unless you are not cool by nature! Boom, there you go!!! I just blew your mind! In that case, you can never be cool. But if you are uncool by nature, you can just wait it out a little bit and fashion will change, then you'll be cool. Unless you're not.

Most bikes won’t start if they’re frozen solid for a day. Have you considered a quick disconnect thing to take the battery inside or just some sort of awning to take the frost away? If you’re living in your own house, I’d build some kind of shelter, at least from the frost coming from above.

Oh I know that, I just don't understand what they have to do with broken boots.
