The answer is pretty obvious to country of origin really......given my history since 1971 is 2 Italian, 3 German, 4 British, and 56 Japanese!

I knew something would go.......so I wanted it to go early to ensure I either got my money back in full or another bike. You know the places I got to......some are 30kms away from any other people or main roads. Wiyth no phone coverage. It don't bear thinking about the consequences if that happened!

When I don't trust the bike that's it! And also at times fate steps in and gives you a clear message! This is one of those times!

The R1200GS was an itch I had to scratch......bit like the mange really. And I've no wish to go through anything like that again.

Question for you @boboneleg! Bearing in mind your offroading mishaps, what would happen if The Leg got broken? How would you get home.......cos I don't think you carry a spare leg? And I can't imagine that you can get a replacement leg over the counter in a Chemists?

Brilliant report Caroline......that was a brutal trip. The heat came down a bit earlier this year and unfortunately you got caught in the middle of it. I know the feeling......and I never even got the bloody thing out of the town.
