Anyone know anything about mass airflow sensors?
Nute replied to Nute's topic in MOTORCYCLE WORKSHOP
I am actually tempted to keep the fuel tank as is poss together with the forks (with new internals and some bellows) and knobby tyres - I'm not aiming for a cafe racer. In two minds on what to do with the controls, either refurb the originals or bin the whole lot and fit motogadget stuff - love to get rid of the miles and miles of wiring but it would be easy to run up a big bill swapping over to their kit. -
Canada will be part of Russia by then.

And we're still in mid of this trade war , making American motorcycles more expensive at the moment, maybe by next year it will be resolved and the prices will setle down a little...

Don’t confuse him with facts.

No im not worried about it mechanically, and yes Im not making money on this ...lol, just at the moment they were offering 25 for mine .....I always regretted not going for the pursuit in the first place...

Unless you're worried about it mechanically, that's a nice way to take the biggest depreciation hit twice!

Im with Pedro on this one Nute , make it into a ratt bike, no use of making things pretty at this point, slap a fancy copper cover for the sensor... -
Feeufff ! I though that idiot Buckster was talking about me ...I think I know who he was referring to...
-
Yes you need a specific cable , go down to your computer shop and ask then for a loopdeloop cable...

Well I was thinking about the millage, its at 40 thousand now , my plan was to keep it for another five years , but the way Im racking millage on it by then it be worth nothing basically, figured i should trade it wyll it's still worth something... The dash cluster has been identical since 2020 , im figuring that's what will change in 27....this is what I was tempted on...26.
-
Why replace it so soon? Are you worried to have it with no warranty, it’s still low mileage. What’s a dash pod?

I'm begining to get the hang on the MacBook now but need some more help please. I plan my rides on Garmin Basecamp and then transfer them to my Garmin Montana 700i. . So I downloaded Basecamp into the Mac but cannot get it to recognise the Montana . The data cable for the Montana is USB 2.0 so I bought an adapter , USB to USB c but that didn't work. Now I have a USB micro to USB c cable and it powers the Montana but won't transfer data. I see that the USB c ports on the Mac are described as 'thunderbolt' ports , what does this mean and do I need some sort of special cable ?

Anyone know anything about mass airflow sensors?
Nute replied to Nute's topic in MOTORCYCLE WORKSHOP
Yeah, sorry should have said that isn't the std manifold, the plastic one is in the bin. Originally there were two plastic boxes, the collector box that goes on top of the throttle bodied then another one which has the MAS in it. To use the MAS exposed I need to make a bracket for it as it's just hanging in the breeze at the moment. I'll weld a tab to the frame and bolt the bracket back to that. The original collector box had a series of washers in each of the 4 internal tubes to restrict the airflow - its been someone's A2 bike at some stage. -

There should be a cone filter on the end of the elbow. -

The standard box is plastic, that is custom. -

Could you make something to cover it. You could replace it with MAP sensor but you'd need some clever bugga to create a new map for the ecu. -

I cannot argue with that ... but I like it Its this thing ... I could totally get rid of it if I bought a set of 16v throttle bodies plus the 16v fuel injection unit ... but I have to do everything the hard way. Looks better from the other side. -

It's not a mechanically beautiful bike anyway, to put it gently, so might as well show that off. If you can hide it, hide it. If you can't hide it, exaggerate it
