boboneleg Posted yesterday at 08:23 Share Posted yesterday at 08:23 The water pump seal is a common failure on this bike, KTM brought out a better seal from what I remember.
Marcel Posted yesterday at 08:33 Author Share Posted yesterday at 08:33 But I did get a few compliments for some older guys...Frank the salesman and and older dude from the service department has they only ones they've seen were mostly all trashed by now...most of these bikes were ridden hard off road..and not really looked after cosmeticly..the paint on this thing looks almost showroom new...lol. Not sure exactly what this one has into it...it will be the third time that it's service...im keeping a close eye on the coolant overflow tank for now if I notice any level changes it will be parked... To be considered half and expert on this antic bike is actually a compliment now...lol I've come to the conclusion that people who use to be knowledgeable about these bikes are now retired or have moved on to another life...90% of the staff were either not born or babies when this bike was around.. My bike is coming along fine, unlike your bodge job.

alfalfa
Yep, great offroad bike. not soo great for traveling 3000 miles to go offroading, tho. I still have it and enjoy it on the local dirt, cause fortunately it was worth $4,500 when i last got it rebuilt for $4,000 .

Yes have to agree it's not a comfortable bike for 3000 miles..lol...mostly just hold more of a sentimental value for me now...sold the bike 4500 bucks when I acquired the 22 1290..comfort wize it was a little better but it was a rolling laptop on wheels , not to mention it let me stranded on the side of the road a few time...and the old 950 found it's way back home after the fuel pump failed on it ...luckily that owner didn't have time to trash it before it broke down and it sat for and entire year ...having no one who wanted to work on the thing I was able to buy it back after running into the fellow at the shop...for 2500 buck...I think it was a steal...lol...he was just glad to get rid of it...
