Saul Posted yesterday at 11:46 Share Posted yesterday at 11:46 I have had mine for 20 years, used it for my BMW Airheads many times in the past (if you have owned one you will know how obsessive carb balancing can be with those bikes). It's a great piece of kit that works well. Anyway in the time I have had it the the pipes that came with it have aged to the extent that are no longer usable. I tried softening them with heat but they are past use. I looked at sourcing some new genuine Carbtune replacements and it is cheaper to buy a Chinky set of gauges with all the adaptors and pipes than buying 4 new pipes for my Carbtune. I can bin the Chinky gauges if I need to and still have all I need to use my Carbtune again.
YamaHead Posted yesterday at 15:38 Share Posted yesterday at 15:38 Know exactly what you mean @Saul....my carb synchronizer's tubes are getting pretty stiff from age as well. Don't have much use for them anymore as my bikes now just have pedals... Going w/ the chinesium route makes much more sense...especially w/ the wallet.

Catteeclan
Difficult to get any good stuff at the mo and the chinky tubes will be thinking of falling apart before they've left the seller. Pick up some silicone tubing.
Nute
Can you get the restrictor tube thingumys from China too? The really fine rigid plastic tubes which go into the vacuum lines to stop the weights bouncing all over the place...

I just use wooden clothes pegs on each pipe trick given me by an old guy many years ago when we used manometers to check air in the telephone cables. That was when i was a Lad.
