Marcel
Just thought I'd let you know what kinda of repairs I've done to the thing over the years to keep it in pristine mint condition... Out of the 20 some years of ownership, I did sell it locally to a fellow , he road it for one summer, and after having it taken to motorcycle repair shop for a simple oil change and they couldn't figure out how to do it..most likely it was to labour intensive for them to mess with , and having the fuel pump fail..he gave up on it...luckily the bike wasn't trashed and I required it again... Catteeclan
So sell it to someone who won't ride it, sounds like a plan.

I had a real hard time putting it up for sale at the time...but after the 1290 purchase..I found it just to ridiculous of owning 3 bikes and to maintenance them all...what I should have done is to never buy that 1290...useless bike for my needs...
Marcel
Suppose I'll start from page one. It's and 04 adventure S , at the time of purchase , it was a 2 year production bike made I think..maybe they were sold overseas in your side of the pond has and 03 ...not sure...but at the time , here in Canada, there was only 1 authorized dealer..in Montreal...1000 km away. boboneleg
They are labour intensive bikes to service but once you know your way around them they are fine to work on .
Marcel
Anyway this would be summer of 05...removed those cat converters...all that anti pollution crap....it pretty well took me the entire summer to figure out everything...to make it run properly again...back in those days ..it wasn't like you could find a video on YouTube... After Countless hours spent on orange crush mostly...diging through forums ...I finally figured it out....jetting and stuff canister removal..all that crap... Marcel
Well fuck that...the sun is already blasting this morning and its to hot already... Suppose I'll amuse you some more. Most of you..other Than @boboneleg maybe ... have no slightest idea how intensive it is just to access the carbs on this thing to try out new jets.... @Buckster would be crying to his mommy having to do this...I kid you not... Marcel
In comparison to settle @Buckster case for one last time...working on this 950 compared to his tractor... It's like working on a Ferrari to a Volkswagen beetle...

Marcel
Has for stuff that I had to replace... Fork seals....bearing goose neck...3 water pump seals...think 3 fuel pumps...radiator hoses..front brakes disk....countless tires and chains combo..1 slave cylinder... think I rebuilt the rear master brake cylinder one time... The frame was replaced in the winter of 08 I think...think it was partly my fault...to many wheelies. The rear disk need to be replaced now.... You probably won't beleive me...but its still running on the original wheel bearings...and they are still perfectly fine....I layed it down twice...without damaging anything...one time wyll crossing a river...and the other time in muck...was barely moving so I was able to let it down gently... Yep, really nice that you’re on original bearings considering nothing serious needed replacing!
