Almost 20C and sunny in Denver today; we sat at a local and had a late lunch. No social distancing here - bar was full as were the tables. Overhead doors were all wide open and it felt great - just like summer...

You could soak that shit in sugar water and beer and it'd still suck! Smells of poo as well.

Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin are about the only areas of the USA where you'll find lutefisk. These are the areas that the Scandinavian immigrants moved to years ago so they have Lutefisk. I lived in northern Iowa as a kid and lots of the Iowa-wegian (what we called them) restaurants had it on the menu. That shit is foul ! Can't believe anyone can eat that shit. My parents (children of German immigrants) would eat it, but I never went near it.

The wife had a braised short rib with some kind of crunchy stuff (shaved almonds maybe?) on top with a brown sauce / gravy on it. Mashed potato are underneath with some asparagus on the side. Oh, and another Stella for me.

A few more for Pedro..... Started off with an appetizer of Stella this evening and followed it with some sort of Kung Pao dish with chicken. Basically veggies, chicken and rice.....

Seems like yesterday. I've been planning the shit outta next summer's rides for something to do. All of this planning and routing and I know I'll end up tossing it all away and do something completely different....

I forgot about that - and it was like 25 years ago. I was on a '93 or a '95 CBR900RR. BRP is pretty much 45 all along the whole thing. Way too low for the quality of the road if ya ask me.

I'll admit it - I ride like my hair is on fire and my ass is catchin'. Rarely do less than 85 / 90 mph on motorways and 10-15 mph over on other roads. Yet, I have never had a speeding ticket on a motorcycle in over 400,000 miles or so of riding. Dunno why, just dumb luck, I guess. Got pulled for 61 mph in a 55 zone last summer - no ticket, just talked to the Trooper for a bit.....

At least it wasn't wasted then.

Things are opening up here; indoor dining AT 50% capacity, bars are semi - knda open if they have food, There never have been any travel restrictions . Pretty much back to normal for me and the wife's 30% pay cut will end on Feb 1st so she'll be back to 100%.

Colder than a well digger's ass here this weekend. I think I'll sit home and hibernate (again) all weekend.

Yes, it's an old wood framed building from ca. 1850 that they gutted and made into a bar / restaurant. Nice place but cold as fuck in there! Heating doesn't quite do the job so ya have to eat and drink with your coat on.

Tonight we head over to a pub in the adjacent town of Idaho Springs, Colorado for dinner. Pretty normal fare for here; wife had a salad with some kind of Buffalo chicken on it and i opted for a wood fired pizza (pepperoni) and a few Stella's. Lots of leftover pizza for tomorrow's lunch....

I drive a 4 WD Ford F150 pick up truck - it's high enough to clear most snow and can get through 24" snow easily enough. Much more than that and it "floats" on top of the snow as the snow packs up underneath it and lifts the wheels up. But it doesn't snow that much very often. 15" of snow is no problem at all. Snowmobiles / snow machines don't interest me too much. It'd be fun but not worth the money required.

Hasn't been above 0C in weeks - although today is supposed to be really warm. But we have 75 mph winds today as well - I just can't win? I may have to toss the bike in the truck and head to Mexico soon to ride.

I haven't ridden since September?. Hope to get out in May though.
