Earache

It's a big field for 8 man football (it's what smaller schools here play). No viewing stands as no one ever goes to the games, etc. Some years they don't even have a team as they can't get enough kids to play, The whole team only has 10 players on it (regular school have 40+ players per team). But it is a nice field. Fake grass as regular grass doesn't grow up here.

Today's work was decent; I work one day a week at the school to help out in the maintenance department. Today we re-roofed one of the concession stands at the football field after the wind blew the roof off, (we have lots of 75-100 mph winds up here in the winter). It was a really cheap style of roofing as well. Sunny and 20F (-7C) out so it wasn't too bad....

Same here - 40+ years so far. I feel like I was cheated out of getting stabbed, jamrags on the floor and other such fun. Can I apply for a refund somewhere?

Check out the icy beer foam at the top - heaven! Mexican food tends to look like slop on a plate - all running together with a lot going on. Just the way it is. But it does taste pretty good.

My next bike

The Negra Modelo tap was dry, so had a couple of liter mugs of Tecate ....

Wife had some weird assed combination consisting of a halved pineapple stuffed with grilled chicken, beef and pork along with some peppers. Side of beans and totillas. Another night out at the local Mexican joint.

A few pics from last night's chow for @Pedro .... First is a platter of "enchiladas suizas" - basically a tortilla wrapped around shredded chicken and covered with a green chili sauce and cheese. Side of refried beans and rice. Almost heaven....

Sitting around talking to my buddy Dave in Indiana today. We settled on some dates and a rough time frame for a ride to California this summer. Dates are May 28th through June 6th; 8 nights 9 days to the coast and back. A little less mileage this time around - about 300 miles per day. Our vague route will include Lake Tahoe, Redwood Forests, Pacific Ocean, Crater Lake, Bonneville Salt Flats. See attached pic. As usual, if any of you casual riders would like to come along with us, you're more than welcome. So far, it's just myself, Dave and his wife Debbie going. Room for more!

You haven't missed anything. Snow is asshole deep on a 9 foot Indian, it's well be low freezing every day and riding bikes is but a dream that is 6 months away for me. But it is sunny today!

I only eat ribs in a few parts of the USA as they usually suck outside of those regions. Tennessee and Texas are the best areas to get ribs..... at least I think so.

I was looking at some old pics from last year's trip to Tennessee and saw some pics that @Pedro would like. My bud Dave and I had a couple of small racks of ribs, replete with cinnamon apples, mashed taters and a few liters of beer. Proper meal after a day's ride....

I hate you all. Driveway is still snow covered as are the streets - need 4 WD just to get out of here. Plus it's still colder than shit, Should be out riding around May 20th or so............

Ours has slowly been dropping; about 20% less than recent months. And Colorado's taxes are fairly average on fuel, so it must be a lot cheaper elsewhere in the USA.

Nah, we went 4 months this past summer with no rain. And when it does rain, it's the Virga rain that doesn't even get your jacket wet. It's weird to ride in the rain and never get wet. The higher portions of Colorado can get some thunderstorms, but the are usually only 1-2 big clouds that move by pretty quickly. Sit down, take a break and watch it pass. Waiting on a traffic accident to be cleared before the road opens - in rain as hard as it gets in the desert. Jacket isn't even wet....

We should spend 2-3 days riding around northern Colorado in my truck; 4WD so we could drive up the dirt roads to mountain passes. Then hit some restaurants in Denver so you could experience some city life in the USA rather than just being out in the boonies the whole time. Time off bikes would be good for a first time visitor.

I kinda like the looks of a lot of his food. I'd take him to some Mexican joints that truly serve a platter of slop. It looks like crap, but taste's really good. I'm sure his pig swill is the same. One thing you guys have that we don't; seafood. No oceans within 1,200 miles of here so no fresh seafood at all. Lots of beef, bison and elk meat but not much else. I love it when we travel to the coasts so I can eat fresh seafood the entire time. This makes Pedro's food look good! (below)

Not to toot my own horn, but I promise not to take anyone on crap, boring roads, etc. We'll avoid all of that on longer trips or on short weekend rides. There's too many good ones to mess around with shit roads.

Truer words have never been written! I ride a lot of dirt roads as connectors to paved ones. The county I live in has like 3 paved roads in it. People that haven't been here have no idea how rural it is; nearest shops are 30 miles away, no cell service anywhere - not even at my house. Despite that, it is a cool area.
