General Lockdown in France from tomorrow midnight to !st december. And there was me hoping to get some riding in between now and mid nov when I have the knee op. Stoopid thing is they'll slow the spread down just sufficiantly to allow everyone out for Chrismas... which will then recontaminate the entire country and oblige another lockdown in janruary. Fuck 'em, i'm gomg riding tomorrow then, I'll be home around 23H58...

I would suggest that your information is out of date Tym, time you came over and updated your files I reckon.

word on the street is that france will be locking down again as soon as the school hols are over ( 2nd nov) if the current curfews arenot effective.

i stopped checking the valve clearances on the transalp after doing it every 10,000 I gave up at the 100,000 service when I realised I had never needed to adjust them!

oh yeah, I've met Dell and Lyn too, I forgot about that

I thought 10,000 km was a pretty standard bike service period these days. it is fun to be able to do it youself though, i enjoyed doing the transalps services but i really cant deal with the tiger and dont have the tools. Also if i did have the ( electronic) tools i’d only balls it up...?. There are definaty some circumstances where “old school rules”

I like it here, with most of the old crowd and some new blood too, I do use facebook but in a rectricted manner and prefer the format of forums. I just ealised that it works a bit like a terrorist organisation, with a hard core at the centre and various levels of implication within the whole, whilst everybody knows "virtually" most of the others, no one person has actually met more than one or two of the other members...? I've met Bob and Cattee, Bruce helped me out in a big way when I was struggling with computor problems though i've never met him. I struggle to think of anyone I could invite as so few of them speak sufficient english. There is one I could try... but he rides a harley now...

But wait, there’s more! Our friend, Secret Squirrel, is back at it with the spy photos—and this time, they brought us something that may or may not end up being called the Ténéré 700 Travel. Where the Rally Edition ruggedized the T7, the Travel looks to seriously lengthen the amount of time you can stay in the saddle between stops. Now, if one of the things you most appreciate about the base Ténéré 700 is its relatively slim profile, you may be somewhat dismayed at the Travel’s comparatively ginormous tank. It is, after all, the first thing you see as you look at these photos. In fact, you may not be able to tear your eyes away from it long enough to look at the other parts of the bike—and if so, you’re not alone. Doing so requires serious effort, but we believe in you! If you want to ride longer between fuel stops, you need to carry more fuel on your bike. That means strapping handy external fuel cans to your rig, installing a larger fuel tank—or maybe even doing both. The T7 Travel has an unmistakably enlarged fuel tank that holds around 20 liters. That’s just over 5-and-a-quarter gallons, if you’re running conversions in your head. That fuel tank is undoubtedly more bulbous than that of the base T7, but let's not gloss over the fact that the setup on the T7 Travel also provides greater wind protection. It’s definitely an important characteristic if you’re planning on a long-distance trip. Other changes include a new front fork, a slightly altered manifold routing, and what is likely the same CP2 parallel twin you already know and love, only modified to comply with Euro 5 homologation. This variant will likely also come with a set of aluminum panniers, and you can see the brackets already in place in these shots. There’s no word yet on when Yamaha could unveil the Ténéré 700 Travel. However, even with most bike unveilings moving primarily online, we’re still in the midst of new model season.
