Been and done the shopping, waiting for the rain to arrive. Says 4 deg but feeling colder. Off to the shed in a bit.

Fitted a lambda probe to a focus today as the heater circuit had gone. Now getting codes saying that new sensor is reading slow. F7 engine in and running, very rough though. There's no clamp on the carb as it's a push fit arrangement but the rubber stub has gone hard over its sitting years causing a sloppy fit. It's also spitting back through the carb making me doubt the disc valve timing. It was far from good condition when I put the engine back together and I refitted the same as it came apart so not sure it was in the right place. The exhaust seems pretty clogged too so we'll try cleaning that out first. I bet the caustic soda available today isn't as good as the flesh eating shit of yesterday.

Nephew had a front coil spring snap at 70mph and go through the tyre. Fortunately managed to stop without spreading bit of the van all over the road. Must have been a risk of brown trousers I should think. Waiting for parts for that. Also playing with the Matchless again trying to get the front end apart. I like working on this old girl but 70 years old has made everything a bit corroded together, trying my patience.

Changed a ABS sensor on a Honda civic this afternoon. The corrosion in the hole was so bad it had snapped the sensor top off.

Got some clean space in the shed sorted, won't be long before I mess that up again. A swifty or 2 were enjoyed. Just booked digs on the Isle of Wight to see daughter, some of the easter break. Still yet to see one of those prem inn rooms for £45. They're be shopping today, that is all.

ermm, 2 hondas. I first had some recommended by my daughters other half while at the Festival. I'm pleased I can get it locally now.

Mandis off for a spa day with her friend later so I have a free day, other than going to pay for the younger boys new car. The Rover head is all ready to go back together but as it's got to be taken 7 miles up the road to the rest of the car I'll leave it till next week as I've got to have a good think of what to take with me. I always forget something so I bet it'll be 2 trips. The shed I did the head work in is a tip so a bit of time is needed in there. We have a "tap room" opened a while ago in the high St which has a cherry beer so I might well slip down there for a swift or 2.

Now going to sort the shims on the rover head, was going to do it this morn but that wind is bloody cold. Dropped a fair bit now.
