  1. The weather has been shitty for the past weeks so I haven't ridden the hornet that much. My first impressions will be comparing it to the CB500F as it's the only reference that I have. So, the clutch lever is a bit heavier than the 500 but still light. The gearbox is as smooth or even a bit smoother than the CB. Power wise, it's a total different world. The Hornet is a beast! I was used to the 47hp and this one, with almost double of that, is a monster and I'm scared of it. It's the good kind of fright though, as it makes me want more seat time to get it tamed. Other than that, I miss the heated grips and today I got the windshield. Haven't ridden it with it on yet.
  2. No photoshop, just some minor tweaks from the Snapseed app on the phone.
  3. I've talked to the sales man and told him I didn't like the short (120mm) levers on the Hornet. He told me I could swap them with the ones I had (160mm) on the CB500F. So I went to the dealership to get the Hornet's original exhaust and to swap the levers. I also really needed to go back to the dealership as I couldn't find the 2nd Key of the CB500F the day I went there to get the Hornet.
  4. I haven't ridden the Hornet since I got it home last week, so no pictures yet.
  5. Just Spam accounts it seems
  6. Sorry, I didn't know that you had Tritanopia.
  7. Some pictures in daylight and from a non-phone camera.
  8. My test ride was done on the way home . The standard Honda grips cost around 300/340€. The sales man told me he had a cheaper option, around 180€ (don't know the brand), but he said they were a bit thicker than the standard ones. I'll need to check if it makes them uncomfortable before I decide.
  9. I was contacted by the dealer to make the appointment for the annual service of the CB500F and was supposed to take it to the dealer next Saturday. I've been checking the dealer's stock for sometime now and saw this bike's ad. It got me very interested. Called the sales guy who sold me the CB500F 2 years ago, made the deal to swap bikes yesterday on the phone and went there this afternoon to get it. Made 76km (almost 50 miles) back home and it was great (really missed the heated grips). It's obviously a Hornet as you can see, but it has the SC Project exhaust, the back seat cover, Honda sliders, Puig levers and lever protectors and a special edition SP stickers. It also had some Puig mirrors that I asked to be swapped with the stock ones as they where small and freakin ugly! What is missing and I want to add in a near future : - Heated grips; - Windscreen; - Quickshift; The CB500F is a great bike and was a great beginner bike, but this is on another level!
  10. It's asian, but not chinese. It wasn't that hard to guess!
  11. Just to let you know that the CB500F is gone... and something else took its place
  12. I just started riding a couple of years ago, even though I have my bike license since 2002. I couldn't afford to own a motorcycle before so that's the reason I've only got the Honda CB500F. Other than that I had a chinese pocket bike . Thanks to my feather weight it could get to 50Kph!
  13. That's why I wrote "almost no one..."
  14. I want to thank the three Stooges... ehhhmm Kings, I mean Kings @Buckster, @boboneleg and @Pedro for all their work of keeping the doors of this place open! I still have a lot to learn to get at y'all twatness level but I might get there once I get used to your constant insults to each other . For 2025 I hope I'll be able to ride more and further and share with you the experience (I'll need to get used to stop every 10/20km to take some pictures ). But then again, almost no one likes Hondas around here so I might not need to stop to take pictures. (This is my way of complaining that no one votes on my pictures on the BOTM). In more seriousness, I've been thinking of upgrading, but I need to see and try some bikes that I like. I'll also need to see the running costs of these options before I take the step forward. Regarding Pete, I can't say much because I barely knew him, but he was always nice to me.
  15. Happy New year everyone!
  16. What about the Tracer 9 GT ? Not enough power ? (3 cylinder engine with 117 Hp) Too similar style to the GS ?
  17. I agree, the BOTY should be selected from all the winners of BOTM. I understand that it's tedious to do 2 challenges in one month, so you could skip the BOTM of December (almost nobody takes pictures of their Bikes in December anyway) and make the BOTY with the 11 previous winners. I think that in @Pedro's point of view BOTY means that you can participate with a picture taken any day of the current year, not being limited to a specific month. This might avoid to have the same picture presented twice in the front page of the forum. I don't agree with it, but it's his show. This kind of contest is usually made to have some interactions with the members and give them an incentive to go out, enjoy a ride and share the moment. But some strict rules (i.e. "bike you currently own" ) sometimes get boring and people lose interest in participating. Just my 2 cents.
  18. That didn't stop it to win the BOTM a couple of months ago.
  19. Unless someone participates with a Vespa
