I remember those Kangols they made people look like they were Saltarens from Dr Who.

Thor is the only one local that doesn't have a cafe attached or on site here. Dameralls where my bike came from have a great burger bar attached and it is always busy. Makes the Dealership more of a ride destination if you can chill and have a drink or whatever.

It's the first time I have seen a Mash in the flesh, looked bloody smart to me. I have read about poor quality cycle parts on them though, weather that is still relevant I don't know. I went up there today as they are going to be selling the new BSA Goldstar and wondered if they had one on show to look at, but they aren't getting them until November the 1st. Had a good look at some Shoei helmets and they looked stunning.

Yeah they do pack them in pretty tight, similar thing up at North Cornwall Motorcycles to. I would hate to see the results if one of those Indians went over, must have been 30 of them in the showroom. Very expensive set of dominoes. I have often wondered about their dealership as they all sorts there. They have a real good selection of Helmets and clothing as well as bikes. Good shop with a good reputation though. I seem to remember when they opened they were just Norton and Indian. Just classic Nortons in the showroom now. I was very tempted by a Benelli 400 Imperale before I got the Himalayan, but ultimately went with what I thought would be more rugged and reliable for everyday use and commuting. From memory I think they are dealers for Indian, Fantic, Morini, Benelli, Beta, Reijue (sp), CF Moto, Zontes, Mutt and Mash.

I had a couple of hours to spare this morning so I thought I would pop along to my closest to look at the pretty things. Got chatting to chap who was having his bike serviced there who wanted to know about the Himalayan as he has a new RE Classic 350 bought from the same dealer as me. I had a good long look at what I couldn't afford, wished Thor had a coffee shop then came home. I would like to have gone further but still feeling a bit ropey from the Covid jab yesterday. Nevermind was a good day for a Bimble in the sunshine.

I love that, you would need a bike to match though. R100C or Jota or Guzzi

Thats what I had Black and Gold trim Clubman, cool as, I thought

II haven't seen a Bell in the flesh for years I just remember they were good. I had a Griffin many years ago and loved that both in looks and comfort. I do like the look of Schuberths but they are spendy, perhaps when I have recovered from buying the bike but I am in no hurry I am happy with what I have got for now.

I have the Better Call Saul T-Shirt that was given to me by one of my customers when I was self employed.
-
I have a new Royal Enfield branded full face which is comfy and quiet, I am guessing middle of the road for quality but I like it. I have a new cheaper open face which is fine but noisy. I quite fancy a Bell, but I had a Caberg flip back in the day and I liked that.

I did warn you there would be daft questions

Knowing him he wouldn't mind a bit of Robin hood cosplay

That one is probably pushing 20 so time to go I think.

I am working on it, but 18 year olds know everything and believe they are made of teflon. He has some proper boots but wont wear them.
-
I offered it to my boy for his twist and go 125 but he wasn't interested. Before you say, yes Dad did buy him a new helmet, decent riding jacket and leggings. I am still working on him to wear some decent foot. ware.

Fair enough I had a feeling that might be the answer, I have a couple of new lids, I was just loathed to chuck this one away. Bit of an emotional attachment, but I will bin it.

I did promise a daft question or two.. Anyway I have this old BMW System 4 helmet which I believe was made by Schuberth. The interior is knackered and it needs a new visor. Is it worth doing or even possible. I would like to revive it as it was a lovely comfy quiet lid back in the day and I would hate to think how much the new equivalent would cost. Has anyone done something similar or is this just a batshit idea and the thing needs binning?

I don't mind his reviews, not sure i would want to spend any time in his company. I don't mind Stuart Fillingham on Youtube, he does drone on but I find it comforting Enfield chat . .

Have you done any research into those LED headlights that are available for the Himalayan. I have seen them advertised but thought them too good to be true, also an expensive replacement if it were to fail.

Thank you for the welcome. Glad to hear I am not the oldest I do sing in a male voice choir and I am not the oldest there either. I did like the look of an Orange Interceptor in the showroom when I got my Himalayan. Not really what I was looking for but very nice all the same. I wanted something practical to commute on and have the odd bimble here and there. My work is 32 miles away so I thought a Himalayan would fit the bill for that. 10 miles back roads and the rest along the A30 dual carriageway. I am quite happy to sit at 60 mph for the most part as I work nights most rides to work will be in. the dark. I am quite pleased with the bikes headlight it is much better than I thought it would be. Sorry I digress, thank you for the welcome.

I got some tank pads from there, seem quite good quality and came when they said. Have yet to fit them to the bike so still a bit of an unknown really. I imagine returns would not be easy or even possible in reality.

I had a TS185 and TS250, also DT175 as well, I did quite a lot of off roading back in the day also. My farmers son, mate had a Bultaco 360, I ruined several bikes in his company. You can see why the Royal Enfield soft roader attracted me. I am 57 and still working, don't know if I will retire until forced, I like working. Also my youngest is only 14 so still quite expensive to look after.

I always enjoyed dramatically jumping up to swing the kickstarter like a hero or so I thought then. Wasn't such a hero when my foot slipped off the kickstarter and it went up the inside of my waterproof legging, that were me dads and huge. I followed that by slowly tipping over as I couldn't put my foot down. I was young to . I was always a bit shy of wheelies after I flipped my ER 185 in the local cafe car park in front of everyone.

Just fancied one really, I wanted a simple single. I remember having a Suzuki SP370 donkeys years ago and wanted something similar but new with a guarantee. I have been thinking about it for a year or more and did nothing, but watch Itchy Boots videos. Anyway I took my boy (18) to get a twist and go 125 for work and they had a showroom full of Royal Enfields. The rest just happened really but as I said I had been contemplating for awhile. I did look at a BMW 310, which looked too much like an insect to me, and a CB500X, but I have ducks disease and had difficulty getting my leg over it. Price was a factor also, although I didn't have to buy new just fancied it. Another thing was i wanted something a bit retro with clocks rather than a screen.
