I wanted to go to Liskeard to have a look at the Chequered Flag which was once a Cafe but is now a workshop as well that does a few bike sales as well. Bloody waste of time that was the Cafe was closed and the bikes were rough as. I spoke to the chap but he was pretty disinterested and more focused on assembling a Chinky AJS 125. They did have a tidy BMW R75/6 that I liked the look of but the rest was either crap or just not my thing.

A you can imagine Fowey and Polruan being either side of the same river has always had a bit of banter between them. To us on the righteous side we view them as Polly Roosters from Little Russia that the sun never touches before mid day. Anyway day off not raining so time for a bimble. First I caught the Bodinnick car ferry across the river. Fecking £3.70 one way. If you look up to the left you can see the latest Omaze raffle house. I think the whole town has bought a ticket for that. Apparently worth 4.5 million. If I win it will be sold quick smart. After 4.5 miles down single track lanes with grass and slippery shit in the middle I got to Polruan. It’s a beautiful little village that I have spent a lot of time in over the years. I was the Postie there in the 1990’s and the Mrs and I ran the Lugger Pub the for a short time. This is the other pub ran by a team mate from my old rugby club. After mooching around for a chat I headed off for Liskeard

My Indian crap dealer was also my Honda dealer. I actually quite liked my Indian crap, but I do prefer the Honda

Nah, not yet, I have been using it like a paddock stand just pop it on when I need it. I'll order the spring on Monday,
-
Don't worry I have a healthy respect for springs, fecking dangerous bastards otherwise.

If you mean by proper bike a BMW I have owned 4 already. I can see me owning one again in the future I do love my job, it is very interesting. I am changing from night to day working and that is taking a bit of adjustment but all is good so far.

Launceston hospital this evening. Home by Midnight which is a refreshing change. Launceston hospital day shift tomorrow so home by 5pm Overnight at Stratton Hospital Sunday. I know it sounds daft but it feels like a holiday for me as I don't go three nights without sleep. Gonna use the bike for all the commuting so that will be a good 200 miles and that makes me smile as well. One downer is that I am working with a 60 year GP tonight and Saturday, never guess what she is going to be talking about, given she has spent the last two years bending my ear about pensions.

Took my oldest daughter up to college to sit an exam this morning. She came out chuffed to bits saying she smashed it Anyway took her her to McD for a treat and she had histerics because our number was 69. Oh for a 17 year olds brain. Anyway it was good to spend the morning with her.

There are two Trago Mills in Cornwall. The Liskeard one which was the original and the Falmouth one. The Newton Abbott one is near Plymouth. My father in law built a boat for the guy Robertson who started it all. Radom fact

I will look for that. I liked her in Taskmaster also

Combos are heavy on fronts, rears last much longer. I think it’s the way the turbo spools, pulls quite hard a low revs but runs out of puff quickly. Tiny little thing. They munch gearboxes to, probably for the same reason. I drove them a lot when I was a Postie, it’s why I bought one. Good to drive as older CDV’s go.
-
I seem to go through front tyres regularly my van loves them. never keep them long enough for them to perish They usually last around 6 to 8000 miles So two sets of fronts yearly.
-
I watched all of that. Loved it Daisy May is a very funny lady. I used to like the psychotic woman hard case. Laughed at her a lot.
-
Did a Pete today. Had my van MoTed in January and had an advisory for front tyre wear. Then promptly forgot about it, out washing the van this morning I happened to notice one tyre was down to the chords. Thought I better go get some. So two tyres up £126 down.

Didn't a chinese company buy the name and build a styling house in Italy to produce for the Italian market? I remember reading about it ages ago but it didn't really sink in. I know they have sold a shed load of bikes on the Italian Market. They do look good in the flesh. There are loads of them up at Thors but it's just a brand name for more generic Chinese bikes to me. Only the badge bears any resemblance to the old 3 1/2 and 500. The Dr I am working with on Friday night is a Morini owner and has run several 3 1/2's for years, now just as a hobby but she did use them for real in the 1970's and 80's. She is not the tallest of people and their size was what drew her to them originally. Mind you she makes the point that a generic chinese clone would probably prove more reliable that her Italian Morinis did. She had many problems back in the day. Very interesting lady to work with, loads of tales to tell.

I agree I think it looks great and has real potential, let down by by electrics and finishing. Could be so much more, I believe the styling is French but the build is chinese, similar to what Morini is doing.
