Sorry missed this Pete. Pros on the forum for me are: Some very interesting people who do interesting things, live in interesting places and will talk about it. We can talk about bikes without a lot of the bullshit 180 mph on public roads type stories. Some very genuine people. No tolerance of Pomposity. No Politics, mostly. Some genuinely weird fuckers here. Cons: Those fucking mange photos. Some spiteful pile on type of nit picking, wind ups and bullying. There are a lot of bikes and bike type stuff that people avoid talking about because the pile on culture think they are shit. I think we are missing a lot of interesting content as a result. The sheer volume of homophobia, misogyny and obsession with bumming type comments. I grew up in the 1970's and understand the humour but there are less and less of us now and it just doesn't fly today, if you want to recruit new members and grow the forum. You may not want to change the dynamic of the place. But don't underestimate how many people will walk away from this type of stuff though, even in our own age group. Sometimes being a member of this place feels like a guilty secret rather than something I would recommend to my mates. Now don't take anything I have said as an attack on anyone, it's not meant that way. You asked for what I thought and here it is. I do think this is a great forum with a good community, I enjoy spending time here.

I was on the way home by 23:45. Doesn't happen often but very nice when it does.

Well that was a turn up just got sent home from work on full pay as there was no clinician for my shift. Once I had done my daily stuff no clinician means nothing for me to do so off I fucked home. My own bed tonight

Had a play with the settings on my bike now it is nearly run it. Full power with no traction control is a bit hairy, been a very long time since I got the front wheel up. Traction control back on quick smart, and chill, don't intend to do that again. .

That's what I understood.

Yeah mate, neap tides

That's an interesting point. You know the dramas I had with the Bagster tank bag marking the paint on my CB500. I was talking to the salesman about it and said I hope the Hornets paint isn't so soft, he winked at me and said you'll be fine with Japanese paint. Now I don't know weather to read anything into that as he had his own agenda I am sure but it did make me wonder. Also I was up Damerells months ago with a mate who was looking at a CF Moto 650GT loaded tourer. We were talking generally about CF Moto and if they were any good, the same salesman said they 650 are fine but the 800's ECU's are failing to a point where it is difficult to get replacements and that is part of why they were giving up the franchise. Not reading anything more into anything he said but I find it interesting hearing the gossip.

Shit start to the weekend just been to my Uncle's funeral, very raw and emotional, he was one of the very few in my family that I was close to. Gonna go out on the Hornet in a minute after a brew to clear my head. Then doze this afternoon for work tonight. Saturday is clear so hopefully can finish running in my Hornet once I have slept. Sunday I have Christmas Choir practice down the west then work again overnight after the Wassailing.

Wow never heard of that before. No Saville was not mentioned.

No mate it was a drama about Sutcliffe and his Violence.

The Long Shadow on ITVX. About the Yorkshire Ripper, grim subject but pretty well observed recreation of the 1970’s. I liked it.

I thought he had a sore arm.

Ok seeing this is an old feckker moaning thread I feel like shit to. Went to see the doc on Monday and he has changed my meds for gout and blood pressure as well as given me some steroids. He said you you feel a bit off for a couple of days until you get used to the new dose. No shit Sherlock. Only been out singing once this week, missed a concert and a practice and I am still shattered. Hoping it sorts itself for work on Friday.

Sure is a helluvalot of bike for £7000. I seriously thought about one, makes a lot of sense to buy and keep. It was just to heavy and tall for my stumpy legs. Plus I wanted a Hornet.
-
I have seen them between 6600 and and 6999 for new in stock ones.

The salesman at Damerells told me a similar story about the CB500 Hornet due out as well. He reckoned it was a facelift and more tech stuff but basically the same bike. The 650 Strom is a real bargain at the moment.

Don't take it personally mate, my youngest daughters derision of her brother is not a dig at you
-
True, be nice not to have the DADDDD! can you come and get me call as well.
-
Oh thats sounds a real pain. My employer got my DOB wrong when they set up my pension, that took months to straighten out.

She was keen on a Kermit green Keeway at one point but she is switched on when it comes to money and when I told her it would be worth next to nothing when she wanted a bigger bike the Honda brainwashing gained ground. She may go off the idea but she has told me she would never ride a ped like her brother. I won't tell you what she calls him on his 'Gay ped' .

Just popped up to Damerells as the owners handbook was not on the Hornet when I got it home on day one. No issue they got one for me just needed to pick it up, they offered to post it but I didn’t need any encouragement to get out on the Hornet which is now shit high again. I did notice my old CB500 was in the sold line. The salesman did his best to convince me that I should buy a CB125 for my youngest. Who desperately wants a cool black bike like mine, tis a bit of a squint to see the resemblance but it is what she is after. The spanner in the works is that she has only just turned 16 so another 12 months yet. No sale today. I would prefer her to have something second hand but she knows her mind and would use her money so I don’t have a lot of say in it

Yes it’s anchored to the floor.
