  1. Very true……..anyway I might get it resprayed into the Kawasaki Team France colours of red, green and white. Obviously it will turn me into a riding god.
  2. Don’t panic, it’s not one of those ‘guess-what-I-might-buy’ threads but a simple heads up that now the Suzuki DR600S is almost sorted and ready to take over dirt duties the Himalayan needs to be outed for something more road orientated. Off to Alicante in the morning to see a tidy Kawasaki z750 with not many klms and as pretty as a pretty thing. Plenty fast enough for an old man.
  3. You can have my Himalayan @XTreme for €2,500 before I part-ex it. Very reliable. One careful owner. Never been dropped. Never seen dirt. Never been thrashed (it’s impossible with 25 bhp).
  4. Move to Spain, ride your bike every day of the year. The only downside is that there’s some proper ex-pat wankers down here eh @XTreme?
  5. Precisely. Resistance is futile anyway.
  6. Earning gold stars to exchange for my week away with mates………so that means putting a gazebo together, making things, fixing leaky pipes and generally being a good husband……….it’s a tough job but someone’s gotta do it
  7. That looks epic, thanks very much Pedro.
  8. Welcome, looking forward to hearing about Cannada and your Moto 98 motorbike.
  9. Not sure really, I guess a lot will depend on the weather and how long it takes to make our way over.
  10. Nah it’s perfect for it, small roads where 100bhp is pointless, poor surfaces, lunatic farmers in my side of the road. Perfect.
  11. Setting off on Sunday 29th May and heading to Zaragoza to meet up with a couple of UK based mates. They’re riding down from the UK over two and a bit days on a Kawasaki Versys 650 and a spangly new Husqvarna 901 Norden……….I’m going on my Himalayan because it’s the only working bike I have at the moment (might chop it in when I get back so I can start a ‘guess-what-I’m-buying’ thread). The first day is a mere 546 klms for me from home to the hotel in the city centre. Good job I’ve got a fluffy sheepskin. Anyway, the plan is to head from Zaragoza through the Picos de Europa, then south into the north of Portugal (any tips of where to head to @Pedro?), returning home on Saturday evening. It'll be a blast and we’re sticking to the smaller roads so I don’t hold them up. Might even post some photos if I get really bored.
  12. Just realised why you call it the mystery bike. You haven’t got a fucking clue what you’ve bought have you? I bet you’re hoping this poll will jog your memory you daft old twat.
  13. It ain’t mine………..mines even less valuable
  14. Safe as houses mate…….anyway, if it falls over it will probably cause several euros worth of improvements
  15. Now, it may not look like it but progress has been made on the DR…….firstly, there’s a big box of bits turned up containing everything from the essentials such as wheel bearings and calliper rebuild bits and bobs to the less essential but bling driven film-flam such blue grips and anodised blue in-line fuel filters. You can’t have enough bling. Wheels out, fluids drained, degreased, seat ready for recovering, baffle being fashioned from an arbitrary item and just propped up awaiting a few more bits which need to be ordered e.g. the third wheel bearing for the rear wheel as I stupidly thought there was only two………….mechanically-challenged me. It ain’t ever going to be pretty but it will start, go and stop properly and that’s good enough for me………which reminds me of a girl I once knew. I know you’ll all sleep better knowing progress is being made.
  16. Bothered? Am I bothered though? Am I?
  17. I don’t get it, I mean how long does it take to pop some tassels on the end of the handlebars and make sure the stabilisers are on tight?
  18. Pete’s changed his name to Quentin Gaylord to match the bike.
  19. The Amazon river runs for thousands of miles. At some points, it runs through areas of the rain forest that are almost untouched and have been barely explored. Because of the porous limestone in these areas, the river water leaks through the stone and travels deep into the earth, and forms underground pools almost a mile below the surface. Over thousands of years, small blind transparent fish have lived and evolved in these pools. These fish have never seen the sun or the surface and have never been seen by the human eye, these fish care more about @XTreme’s next bike than I do.
  20. I’ve been tipped off that he’s been out for a test ride.
  21. I can only aspire to such greatness Bob ………. As for the rest of you, you clearly have no sense of adventure
