We got the Pellet burner going here every day now. An hour in the morning, an hour in the afternoon, and about 3 hours in the evening. That's enough to keep the whole house at a nice temperature.

I rode in all conditions including snow for most of the 70's. Been there, done that, and don't need to do it again!

I did look at some of it admittedly.....though it would have been better if it was Steam. But you have to go back to early 60's for that.....as you see here! This is the Swansea I grew up in!

Is that line still operating Saul.....or is there any abandoned stuff to check out?
-
Wow.....that could be on The Discovery Channel.....quality is amazing!
-
With loads of Busa talk but no Busa action!
-
Yeh......the contents of that fridge!

How are things back there?

Have all you twats seen this? You need to start thinking of quality members and twats so you can nominate them. But don't name them yet!
-
I was worrying that somebody had given you a bike!
-
@Clive......where are you?

National Holiday today and Thursday here in Spain! Still working as normal though!

Justice is coming for this bitch and the other greedy cheating fuckers who filled their boots in the feeding frenzy of the Tory profiteering PPE racket.

There's a lot happening this month, so here's the dates in advance so you know what's going on! Sunday evening 18th - Wednesday evening 21st: Nominations for MOTY (Member of the Year) and TOTY (Twat of the Year).....you have 3 days to nominate somebody. Wednesday evening 21st - Saturday evening 24th: Voting for MOTY (Member of the Year) and TOTY (Twat of the Year).....you have 3 days to place your vote! Vote switching will be in place! On Xmas Eve 24th December at 7PM (UK time) the Polls will close and the 2022 winners will be announced! Will @Slowlycatchymonkey (MOTY) and @Buckster (TOTY) retain their titles? That's up to you! But the fun doesn't stop there, because on Thursday 29th the Poll will open for BOTY (Bike of the Year) which will feature the winning entry from each month. Vote switching will be in place! The Poll will close on 31st December (New Years Eve) at 7PM UK time and the 2022 BOTY will be announced and featured on the front page throughout January. Just to clarify, every month from Jan to Nov will be represented, so some members may have multiple entries! There will be no BOTM this month, but you can carry any pics from December across to BOTM January. If you can't grasp that lot just get a grownup to explain it to you!

Absolutely correct1 In the early 70's most of us would have gotten abuse from old guys for having a Jap bike.....but that hatred never extended to Germans or Italians.
-
That was solely assembled in Germany......the 650 was assembled by Loncin and it never missed a beat.

Get her to sign up here!

They might shift a lot of them based on badge and price, but as for the quality I'm not so sure. I'm actually quite open to newer brands from different markets coming in......providing they are focussing on reaching comparable standards to the Japs rather than based on a "stack 'em high, sell 'em cheap" business model. And at the moment I only see one company who potentially could cross over into the mainstream.....Loncin/Voge!
-
But the Jap bikes were light years ahead of the existing bikes of that time.......and these Indian bikes are not! The Japs brought in meticulous engineering assembled by a workforce who had a mindset of striving to achieve excellence in their work. The Indians on the other hand bring cheap bikes with a familiar badge (as do the Chinese with Benelli and Moto Morini).....they bring nothing else to the table.
-
No....Jap bikes were only a joke to the previous generation who were riding Brit bikes. The bikes themselves were excellent! They called them Jap Crap and Sewing Machines......and then reluctantly admitted they were decent enough, but insisted the Japs could only build small bikes. Then along came the CB750K0, and 3 years later the Z1 arrived! By then it was game over for Brit bikes, and those guys with Commandos, Tridents, and Rocket 3's all went over to the Honda and the Kwak.

Crazy thing is I can't remember any reg number from 1979 on! But in my defence there has been 65 in all!
-
I even remember the reg numbers of all of the Brits back then! BSA Bantam DMR277C, BSA B33 UDE141, Triumph 350 3TA CEJ714D.....that was ex-Welsh Water Board. I pushed all of the fuckers.....especially the Bantam!
-
I wouldn't buy British either! Don't forget that I owned and rode a variety of Brit bikes from the 60's era: Norton, Triumph, BSA, RE, AJS, Matchless, Francis Barnett......I've even been on the back of an Ariel Square Four! And without exception they were agricultural and unreliable.....which is why the Japs were able to kill them all off. None of those names (with the possible exception of Triumph) are something to aspire to. Something to avoid more like. I'm sure the modern Indian bikes are a lot better.....but it still doesn't get away from the fact that the name of the brand is the selling point! And those names weren't that fucking great in the first place.
