I always put my lid over one of the mirrors but lately have taken to leaving it on the top box. Oh course if you have a SH(it) top box it'll probably just slide off

I suppose I keep mine on average for about 7 years unless it's had a bash but it's hard to tell as I've always got at least three on the go.
