True to form, we off to the coast tomorrow, and the weather is going to turn shit. Better make the most of today.

On the Suzuki Burgman 650 the belt is supposed to be for the life (or was) of the scoot, But many failed well before that, suffering catastrophic transmission failure.

Many year ago I had a Kawasaki GPZ305, that was belt drive, the belt snapped while out on a ride, luckily near to home when it did. Ŵent and ordered a new belt, when they told me the price I almost passed out. £150, and that was around 1980, so I converted it to chain drive, shortly before it devoured its camshafts.
-
Get nowhere near that on a scoot belt, they wear down on the edges which decreases top speed, the belts I have changed looked in perfect condition, but below factory width specification.

A few weeks ago my ex brother in law called and bought a H.P computers, tower, keyboards and screen, fuck knows where we could put it in our small bungalow, had to say Thanks, but no thanks, Pissed him off a bit.

Think it was running on Windows 92.

My father in law had a huge computer, he never had the Internet in his house ,he just played Patience & MahJong on it.

Mark Willaims talked (in print) a language I could understand. But as you say Setright was to technical for my feeble brain. I bought Bike each month for years, I had a stack of them that stood 3 feet tall, when we moved house i could not give them away, no interest, ended up binning them all,

Just lack of spares and rust, got plenty of that.
-
And a damn sight more costly..

Our local (very dubious) bike shops would tell you the bike your were interested in was the best thing on 2 wheels, every bike in the shop was, according to him/them. I bought the GT550 because 2 guys in our group jad one and gave a honest opinion of it, it could have been a Honda 750 Four instead of the GT550, but the Honda dealer was not a man to be trusted, took your money then you where on your own.

Is @Buckster,s Harley a belt drive.
