There are metal dust covers? Dumb question but how do they stay up/attach?

Thanks
I was a professional photographer for many years, along with my partner we had a photography lab and fine art studio for years. So it is something I love to do and can seem to manage with any camera, for the most part.
It is a passion of mine for sure.
That’s cool and explains it, they have got the look of someone who has a good eye for the right angles and light. Great thread.
Sadly not one I will be contributing a huge amount to cos my photography skills at the top of their game are mediocre- 1

The time of year is here where I live, if you have a "burn pile", burn it. From land clearing, logging and such. Needs to be done before the Spring. Still makes the air smokey and rather unpleasant for dog walks.
But regardless, the smoke in the trees with the sun was fun to photograph and a bit eerie.
You pics are good, are you taking them with a sophisticated dslr or do you have the touch with the ol iPhone?

Great shot, I look back at some of the first days I had mine and the photos, and I think to myself, how have I managed to get my bike so dirty. You know the kind of dirt that never comes off. Which is ok, the Himalayan's look good dirty.
They definitely do look better dirty.
I nearly sold mine once (big mistake I won’t repeat) got as far as leaving it at the dealers (they were selling it for me) woke bolt upright next morning... nooooo raced up and retrieved it.
Took it straight to the Overlander festival where every bike is dirty (festival for people have done or are interested in RTW travel) it was so shiny, looked brand new all coated in some sort of silicone, even the exhaust had been returned to its original shiny colour. Folk kept looking at it and me sideways, felt like a fraud muchos embarrassing- 2

Is it to early to ask for free medical advice? lol
More like too late, jacked it in a couple of years ago. Now only available for life and death stuff and then only if I like them otherwise I’m happy to leave ‘em croaking at the side of the road

No it usually starts and ends with a T doesn't it
Thats northern isn’t it?

I’ve done my time listening to the worried well complaining about rashes, listening to endlessly detailed stories of peoples minor brushes with medical services and the unprompted showing of body parts. When I go somewhere new I always tell them I work in McDonald’s surprisingly no ones even slightly interested in talking to you about shite food

Bold bordering on brazen starting a thread on my second day here but in for a penny in for a pound!

Is there a joke thread on here? When I was looking for the Himalayan pic I saw a joke I’d not seen for yonks and was going to post it.

That pillion seat needs you.
What is this ‘pillion seat’’ you speak of? It’s not something I’ve experienced. Is it the bit at the back I strap my tent and spare tyre to or in your case probably some biscuits and your weekly copy of Grazia?

@Grasshopper's Ride This was the first day I had it. Not quite so shiny now, not far off though it’s well cared for and the bars have successfully stopped any damage

Nail on head! But one thing I will point out is that all these guys have ridden all their lives.......and we're all in our fifties and sixties.
Consequently there's a lot of experience here......and nobody feels the need to have to prove anything.
So we're just who we are.....and everybody is exactly the same in real life. Most of us go back 20 years with each other......so it's a bit late in the day for any of us to pretend we're anything different.
That’s good to hear cos people with something to prove or frontage thats doesn’t match the innards are exhausting!

I was reading your response thinking to myself, only someone who has ridden a Himalayan would know these things.
YOU MUST STAY....please, cool people like you don't stop here often....lol
What year is yours? Photos are always welcome!
Yer they do stop by here cos they’re all here, slightly deranged and bent out of shape but I recognise the signs of shabby cool
I have every intention of sticking around, it’s got a good feel, like no-ones taking themselves too seriously
I do have a Himalayan it’s 2018. I got one cos I was going on a trip where the hired bike would be a Himalayan after that I knew how competent it was and couldn’t part with it. I’ll find a pic of it laters
