  1. I would have to say given the outcome that it wasnt. It looks to be in a bit of a state doesnt it?! The mechanic preparing the bikes for the trip was knackered and ran out of time cos the bigger jobs took much longer than expected (the pannier rack for the Himalayan didnt fit and extending brackets had to be made) so I suspect the chain didnt get a look in. We definitely didnt take care of it
  2. I completely get this bit because that’s what we’re feeling, it feels so right. I just find Spanish peoples way easy, like being uptight doesn’t come naturally to them- unlike my British friends. I am surprised how well we seem to be getting on with the Spanish we’ve encountered, I thought they hated all brits but I’m not getting that at all, far too many smiles, laughter and offers of help, although I’m sure the speed conversational translation apps work now allowing the communication barrier to be removed has played a big part.
  3. Snapped chain. Dunno how it’s only 30bhp, the bikes only done 2400 miles and it wasn’t the spring link that broke. All I can think is well it’s Royal Enfield.
  4. Glad its been such a success for you. I can see the appeal. I suppose the not setting foot in Britain again is down to bad experiences but for me theres lots about the place I love, cant imagine never going back, not that Ive got a lot of choice since Brexit
  5. Oh mate, Im made up for you, what a result! Did younger you ever imagine your life leading there? ps thats a sofa bed? bijeezus Ill take a pic of what a real ikea sofa bed looks like later Yep it was furnished, and nicely done too, I think my landlord is a bit well to do, not sure what the social markers are for that in Spain but he definitely has some taste and is not pond life But even so it was a shock to rack up nearly a grand in necessaries- bedding, towels, a decent kitchen knife n pan etc etc and thats just the start, I certainly looked up where the nearest ikea is, didnt go mind you, couldnt handle the fluorescent tube lighting, crappy food and rowing couples
  6. So Six's reference to living in Rennies wardrobe on the other place was only slightly off, sounds like its more its a closet
  7. Can we have some pics here @Tango I cant be arsed with FB
  8. Ikea.. the ultimate combo of shopping for cheap dull items in a place you wouldnt be sorry to hear caught fire
  9. We had the same system. The lucky working ones were housed in Worle, then if they were disruptive they moved them to the Oldmixon and finally the place of no hope the Bournville. After I saw the Bournville during my not so well behaved years my mum would often say to me “If you carry on like that you’ll end up on the Bournville” Didnt make any difference I carried on ignoring her and doing what I wanted to
  10. I thought that too. Sticking a load of people who cant afford a car up a mountain its nuts though isnt it!
  11. If the article is accurate its interesting mistake, the good intentions of very flawed thinking. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/notorious-penrhys-estate-what-happens-14016637.amp
  12. That looks lovely We have the Bournville estate in Weston which is statistically the most deprived estate in the UK. I always wondered if the writers of Shameless had visited there. Those shoe boxes of stuff (soap a toy gloves etc) we had to donate at school at Christmas for the poor were taken straight round to the Bournville. Even though its only 15mins ish from where I lived Id never laid eyes on the place until I was 17yrs old and my driving instructor took me there. I wasnt from a posh place but compared to the Bournville it was the ritz. Id heard it mentioned in sad hushed tones “that so and so has ended up on the Bournville” the reality lived up to expectations.
  13. Looking at the Shuberth C4 Pro (not the C4 which I understand is a bit of a donkey) as theyve just announced the C5 and the prices of the C4 pro have dropped to £299. The much cheaper Caberg Duke also appeals Anyone got either one?
  14. Goddam I need more than one vote for this one. Xtreme has finally inspite of topbox produced a good pic. Im absolutely certain I need to vote for sir fallsallot cos its the most enticing (plus he shudda won last month) and its an excellent beach pic but then purely on just bike looks theres six’s pic which obviously I should vote against on grounds of historic bias and then to chuck everything into disarray theres mawsleys stunner. If thats not enuf theres Grasshoppers Himalayan in the trees and Tyms light box set against some industrial concrete paying an ode to art deco. Seriously probably gonna have to abstain.
  15. So you need time to recover from spending time with your wife?…
  16. Not sure if this is the juncture to point out the difference between grammar and spelling
  17. Bollo, depends who you’re married to!
  18. Using it accelerates deterioration but the important part, the polystyrene that cushions the blow starts deteriorating from the date it’s manufactured. They give a separate ‘safe use’ date of 7 years from that date. A lot of money spinning bollo I reckon. Like any polystyrene type material, stick your thumb in and if it resists like normal then dandy, if it gives way too easily then goodbye. I am partial to Yens way of thinking, who cares?! Wear one or not, thats freedom. The NHS pays for fishermen, rugby players, football guys and horse folk to do what they want uninsured at high cost to the tax payer so hows about leaving the tiny percentage of bikers out there to choose? Albeit with some honest info to hand!
  19. Hate coms. Have had them since near the beginning and hate the interruption. Honestly who cant wait an hour for a call back? Yes business wise the first to respond gets the business but theres a line to be drawn between peace n quiet and the quality of service you can provide once youve had a rest. Used them reluctantly but religiously while Mr G was new to riding but not once on our ride to Southern Spain, just agreed when n how to stop if we got split up and everything was dandy.. nice n quiet n dandy. So no not a fan. I like the silence being occasionally disturbed by the engine noise and the quiet lulls inbetween.
  20. Bloody hell that’s impressive. Soon you’ll be inundated with requests to clean peoples pipes.
  21. You really are going to town with the crayons today
