  1. I don’t know about the Classic 350. I have the Himalayan and its definitely a sight seeing bike with softish suspension. You’d really have to make sure you’re happy with 20 bhp. I was shocked when I first rode it and thought - its a moped shaped like a motorbike 24.5bhp’s going to be boring but I was wrong. Its an excellent sight seeing bike it just chugs along and goes exactly where you point it leaving you free to look at the scenery. Mr Slowly has a RE continental GT and for whatever reason (slightly lighter and 5bhp more) its much faster. The RE are cheap and that translates into them using cheap parts that dont last as long as you’d expect so if you can accept that and are prepared to do the work/pay a garage then thats dandy. The service interval on the Himalayan is 3000 miles which I think is ridiculous. I thought such an underpowered bike would be awful but I really miss it when its not here, to the extent I’ve put my name down for the new BSA Goldstar, that has a bit more power and the build quality looks better (famous last words), maybe given what you’ve said about looks it might suit you too. I always liked the look of the Kawasaki W800 too. You know what you don’t want and what you’re looking for now so perhaps some test rides and time to cogitate is in order.
  2. Interesting matey. What makes you want it now?
  3. Not me mate my flora are harmonious in any environment
  4. I can manage it, I just rather enjoy it.
  5. Know what you mean but pouring water down the inside of my jacket did help a lot.. until the water heated up. When it was furnace level hot there was no sweat wicking the heat away, it was pure desiccation and I’m sure a wet vest would help with dehydration/heatstroke symptoms on that front cos water cooling works. The army has been using a basic version (wet towel under what your wearing) for donkeys. Like you say though carrying yet ANOTHER thing and putting on ANOTHER layer when its hot.. hmm. Friend wants to go to ride Utah next year which I’m up for just a mesh jacket isn’t going to cut it, I predict meltdown!
  6. Anyone tried a cooling vest? I know most folk here look at the forecast and if its not good wisely don't take the bike out but Ive been committed to doing something in the roasting sun more than once. That hot air blasting through the mesh is very draining. So anyone tried one? Link below (with out of date prices) for anyone who wants to know about them. https://www.motorcycletourer.com/motorcycle-cooling-vests/
  7. They’ve already said they want to do that but not just for electric vehicles Nothing to stop them taxing electric vehicles either, this is just a honeymoon period. The blood sucking vampires will take it one way or another.
  8. If you test ride it and its doable DO IT. My Pops has spent so so long debating what bike he wanted next he now cant have any of them cos his knees are screwed. If you’re over 50 and you want something just do it, its not gonna get anymore likely to happen, just a whole lot less.
  9. Much more of it and they’ll start enforcing the law. Nice fat fines straight into the councils coffers.
  10. Nice. Apart from that gargantuan top box fresh from the gates of hell
  11. The wrong soap can cause the problem.
  12. Ah I see how that sounds. Nope not that I know of. I meant bites the dust as a childhood hero cos he never rode a bike.
  13. Another childhood hero bites the dust. Fonz never rode a motorbike in the entire 10 years it was on. Disappointing Mr Winkler.
  14. Funnily enough photographing my male friends rashes hasn't become a pastime
  15. We know, we're all recovering from an unexpected dose of 70's elevator music
  16. Its an opportunistic flora that naturally lives on the body called Candida. Normally its kept in balance with other things that live on the skin but its common when the integumentary system is disturbed by heat, sweat, antibiotics etc that it flourishes. Hence it often getting called Jock rash/itch.
  17. On the topic of mange a friend of mine who does a lot of sports gets the same mange as you in the summer. Every year without fail they complain continually and show me raw bits of skin that need treating but not this year, not even once. The lack of moaning and raw skin for me to examine made me ask if they were ok. Yep they've discovered a supplement that stops it. He said it takes about 6 weeks to work properly but nada since. https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B085RZDVD4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
