  1. Mine and Mandy's bonnevilles have the chain on the righthand side too.
  2. Nice one, @Slowlycatchymonkey. When does it arrive?
  3. I had a Triumph Trophy 900 about 17 years ago, which had a hard life, used year round but not properly cleaned from what I could see. I only bought it because I couldn't afford anything more. The oil cooler cracked after I'd had it about a year. I wasn't far from home, so I limped it back. Replaced the cooler with one from a breakers and that was sorted. Fork oil seals went, but that's not unusual for a bike of its age. Rebuilt the forks myself. My biggest gripe with it was that the headers were stainless, but the end cans were mild steel. Consequently the cans would rot from the inside out. Very few aftermarket cans available for it and decent secondhand cans were rarer than rocking horse shit. I found some semi respectable cans eventually. Other than that it went well for the 5 years I had it. But I veer towards naked bikes more now, as so much gets neglected behind the fairings of a lot of fully faired bikes. Out of sight, out of mind!
  4. Well, the arthritis in my knees is a hell of a lot better since I started biking and walking more, Pete. No mobility scooter for me for a while yet!
  5. Take up Tai Chi. I think that it's an age thing, Bob. If I turn my head quickly or look up whilst walking I often veer off to one side, almost like I'm drunk!
  6. Any modifications planned for it, Pete?
  7. Overall the bike looks pretty clean. Are you going to fit the Grip Puppies, or doesn't it need them? Is it SW Motech who do a centre stand to fit?
  8. No it's a normal tank on that. It's the NC700/750 that has the storage box in the dummy tank.
  9. Are you going to put crash bars on it, Pete? Genuine question.
  10. A couple of red LEDs in the vent holes should do the trick!
  11. The slow front end turn in is what first struck me when I got mine. Yes, it's got a bigger front wheel, but the short wheelbase and normal fork rake angle should have compensated for that more I thought.
  12. Yeah, I reckon that once it's got some decent tyres on it the handling will be transformed.......you may be waiting a while though, I bet the current tyres will easily see out 20k kms! The gearbox and clutch are definitely very good. I found the seat a bit hard after a bit over an hours riding. I reckon that if they brought out a version with 65bhp and a bit more torque they'd sell them by the lorry load! But I think that the stock bike represents exceptional value for money. As to the fuel consumption, mine averaged around 90mpg! There's less to go wrong on it than the Beemer, it's newer and it's a Honda! You'll get bored with it before it's ever likely to breakdown!
  13. So that's how they keep the grass so short? I've often wondered........
  14. Some of the Facebook mob have increased the front sprocket by 1 tooth, as first gear is stupidly low!
  15. Well, I'm not really surprised. That was my guess in the previous poll. For me, I'd change the tyres, I really don't like those Dunlops. You'll be amazed how it sips fuel! You'll forget when was the last time you filled it up if you're not using it every day! And if this turns out as unreliable as the last one I'll personally come over there, slap you round the back of the head and take your driving licence away!
  16. Nope. I went with the CRF250L as there's probably more of them around.
  17. As I said, we've got them all! Housemartins and Swifts hoovering them up during the day and the bats taking the evening and night shifts.
  18. I have indeed, Pete.
  19. No it's Welsh and it makes a distinctive high pitched whine!
