My favorite documentary from BBC is" Walking with dinosaurs "...
-
In a BBC documentary ?...lol.
- Today
-
You know where this is going, don’t you?
-
-
Look's like your loved BBC... world leader in non-bias news might be in trouble....?
-
Tank cap looks good ... & so does the rest of the bike!
-
Met a guy today that sells chinese scooters, he says cubic inches ain’t shit!
-
Just watched it , excellent video Saul , really enjoyed that...
-
They can tune the revmax for more torque and it would still have more power than any snow mobile engine.
-
More hp , but way less torque, maybe they will eventually make something, but selling overweight and fitting with a crapy running engine is Harley bread winner, I doubt you'll see a fully liquid cooled touring bike from Harley any time soon ....
-
Yeah I am thinking of replacing the screen, the one on there has seen some action. I am going to ride the bike for a few miles to see if I would prefer a bigger one or not.
-
Needs a clear screen with a black rubber edge on it. Looks nice, love what you did with the fuel cap.

I checked the rear light and it already has two LED bulbs in it. I have two H4 LED bulbs on the shelf to go in the bike left over from another vehicle that has since moved on. Forgot to mention it has a set of Hel braided brake lines fitted as well, they don't look to have much age either. I fitted a chargings cable on the bike so that I can keep the battery easily charged up to avoid and Starter Sprag clutch woes that can affect this motor if the charging system and battery are neglected. Also noted if I did have to change the Sprag I have the motor without the access panel so it's a motor out of the frame job to do it. Total ball ache but doable. I have paint and parts on the way but I fully intend to ride the bike in the mean time as well. I won't commute on it, the CBF is still the go to for that but I can see me putting miles on this Triumph. I have hankered after one of these original T300 Hinckley's for along time and now they are worth very little is the time for me.

Thought I would document the rolling resto of my T300 885 Triumph Triple. Actually a 1997 model year bike but was registered in 1998. The bike has covered 50k miles and is a little cosmetically challenged. As far as I can tell it has been used but cared for. I have nothing documented but a receipt for a new rear shock. £602 for a Maxton what ever that is. From the MoTs I can tell the tyres are less than 1k miles old Michelin Radials, again I don’t know anything about them. It has new chain and sprockets, 3 new discs and pads. The fluids including oil look spotless so I think is has had a major service recently in mileage terms. None of this is small money but obviously money I don’t have to spend. I have no clue when the valves were last checked but they should have been done 4 times now in terms of mileage. So that is on the to do list. I will say the bike starts instantly ticks over well and is as mechanically quiet as these things get. The day it arrived after a wash To get to know the bike today I T cutted the dull paint, polished and waxed it Also painted the bar end weights and petrol cap Also removed the mankey rack that was on it. There are many jobs to come before it is the way I want it but I will chip away at them as I get the time It has MoT until March 26 so I will insure and tax it then tomorrow and go for the first ride After that the next job it to paint the pipes and silencers

Just pointing out the fact they have a 76ci motor that is more powerful than the upcoming Indian 117. They can upscale it if they want to, they have the means.
-
Might has well compare the 1250 from the pan-am to ktm 1290 , in no way shape or form the 1250 displacement could be increased to 97ci , it would need to be totally redesigned and would be a completely new engine...in your dreams Buckwheat...lol.

It’s not a real one sadly, but it is great fun. The best way of turning petrol into noise when the weather is good !

Thanks all. The forks / bars are the original BMW setup (at least I assume it is, it all fitted within the fairings ok before disassembly). I think I will measure the max deflection with each option and see what the difference is. I’m leaning toward the last one too, even if it will mean more welding. For some reason the tanks always seem to leak at the lowest point each side, I guess as water gets in and sits there. The original tank cap leaked and dripped water into the tank. It’s a 1983 bike and the loom is a mess, I assume where it’s been repaired or altered in the past so I might need to make a new one. There are various after market gizmos for reducing the amount of wiring required though. It’s 50/50 weather I get this finished before I shuffle off this mortal coil or the earth is taken over by aliens but it’s fun to do.

He has his own padding.

Did some work with one of these last year. It had been bastardised with some sort of home made chassis/body kit with 2 front wheels. They'd tried to seal the poor welding on the tank with a kit but the stuff either never set properly or reacted with our new fuel and clogged up everything. Took a couple of fuel pumps and clean out attempts but got it running well in the end. Have fun.

I would start from the other end. Get the bars you want first, and get them adjusted so they’re not tilted back. If you end up with bars that are too tilted back or just too pulled back it’ll steer like shit. Then put the seat in the most comfortable upper position. The last one looks the nicest fitting though. Is that seat padded enough?

Tend to agree w/ Buck....that last example looks the most aesthetically pleasing. You sir, are 1 lucky dog to have a 427 Cobra in your hardware collection.

It's bloody hard work to keep focussed and stay awake at times
