Both of our dogs just went through some dental issues in the last month. Got a good vet clinic 18 miles away that have been great to our dogs for the past 4+ yrs. Our 13 y/o Chihuahua/Italian Greyhound mix had an infection that made the right side of her snout swell up pretty good...anti-biotic shot & some cleaning....she snapped right out of it almost overnight. Then a week later, my 8 y/o Shorkie had 13 teeth pulled...didn't want her suffer from an infection...fortunately it all went well & both dogs are back to their old selves- being bossy & loud...lol All to the tune of just over $1100.🙄 It's been a spendy year thus far....I'm cringing over how much property taxes might be...which are due next month.🥴

property taxes::: is that like our local Council taxes then  ( your local Guberment tax for street lights and empty rubbish bins Roads repair ) that sort of stuff?

Pretty much Lyn....road repairs, local schools, street lights & City and County taxes....our wheelie bins are charged separately each month by a local Sanitation company.

Long story short....anyway from all of the ear scratching, her left eye got a real bad infection , had to wash it out almost every second day or the eye would shut completely with mucous...was using what I could find at the drug store , polisporine eye drops and ointment for the ear...

It was around 11 am when the vet called her in to have a look..figure in my mind that was it...and she would recommend me to put her to sleep...she checked her heart and she could tell the dog was in pain...the Vet said look I have 3 surgery today, one of those I can wait for tomorrow...and I can remove what's in her ear but no guarantees...the dog is 13 years old...told her to go ahead and if the dog dies well ...

It turned out to be polyps one large one and another smaller one further down the ear canal...she made it through like a champ and already almost back to normal today...that a pic from when I brought her back home..she was still a little bang up by the Anastasia..

Feel for you Mate. i took the lads cat Zippy to the local Vets ( part of a uk group as most are today) they charge an arm and a leg the Bar-stuards >>>

told me theyeye had to be removed and would cast 1 point 5 K    What!!!! could be 2K if problems........Found a local 9miles away who do the farms and Horsey folk..

But good for families.. Total bill with 3 weeks care after the op to remove his eye £600.. and they called for 8 weeks to make sure he was OK..

Yes Im sure the other place...would have said...first we have to do a blood test...and ultrasound to check her heart and maybe a biopsy to check for cancer and probably and x ray for good mesure...the place looks and is identical to a modern day hospital for humans...

Yes I think so...physically the dog is still fine and probably has a few more good years ahead still...got to bring her back in two weeks for a checkup and remove some stitches possibly....and that real nice Vet only charged 400 that with all of the meds included...im sure the other place would have charged like 1500 or possibly more...fucken thief I tell you..lol.
