The mechanical companies i work with are using some kind of laser scanner to measure rooms for new equipment to be manufactured and installed, it produces a mm perfect 3D drawing of the room but I've yet to see anything they have produced off site fit without adding or taking something away I think the traditional draughtsman's days are numbered.
