I went on a ride out today with Kernow Crew that started at Damerells. Then we followed the A39 coast road to Boscastle, then on to Bude then inland to Launceston to finish. Good well marshalled event that raised money for a good cause £5 per bike. I reckon there were about 100 bikes plus a few trikes. I enjoyed the experience but the last time I went on a big ride out I swore I never would again and that was about 20 years ago, so on those stats I won’t be going on another. Nice to look at the bikes but twat quota was high. One genius managed to drop his new Indian in the carpark disabling it by breaking off the clutch lever. Obviously not used to the extreme forward controls and couldn’t find the back brake and snatched the front. Down he went. Some really nice bikes there, lots of Harleys and Indians and some bikes I liked as well. I actually really liked this 1200 Sportster but the vibes had to be witnessed to be believed. Thought the motor was going to jump out of the frame. Nice Bulldog. Varadero, bloody monster sized bike. For Pete Beautiful Boscastle. First time I have been there since it was washed away in the early 2000’s Felt really different. Scuffed jugs. Nice Wank Panzer for Pedro Other randoms.

You should have watched the video he specifically says he prefers Harleys to Hondas, told you he is one of yours now.
-
And he has found the Panda! Been pissed there a few times before it became upmarket.

Oh bugger he is down here now. Think his parents live near Falmouth. Looks like he is one of yours now Buckster.

My father used to ride bikes, I have very few photos of him at all and none of bikes. He had a thing for BSA's but my domineering mother stopped all of that before I came along. He still rode a Honda C90 to work when I was a kid, old S reg in the UK so a 1977 I believe, he got a new one every three years or so until then but the S reg was the last. He picked up my 1981 CB250N from the dealer for me, I could see he was besotted but nothing ever came of it. He taught me alot about basic mechanics and looking after my bikes. Don't know anything about my Grandfathers and bikes, never really spoke to them about it, didn't really know either of them very well to be honest. Too big a family and I was one of the youngest so I was way down on the time with Grandad sort of thing.

Congratulations.

Fuck it this thread has jinxed mine as well, just went out to check my tyres for work tonight and it died. Had to go back to old faithful. Mine was £18 quid as well probably lasted six months. As Pete would put it POS.
-
Mine is dying as well, or the battery is. Will still pump up one 4x4 tyre but is getting weaker all the time. Shame as it has been very convenient. I still have my Aldi 12v one that works from a cig lighter socket but I am loathed to fit an ugly lump like that to my bike. Also a bit bulky to carry on the bike. I’m tempted to get one of those that work off a drill battery.

Oh dear, have you been taking Pete’s feisty blue pills.

Thank you Pedro, I want that car or the UK spec equivalent. I wouldn’t give my E46 up for much but I would for a spotless E30.

My kids used to Its long gone now. I think that photo is from around 2010 ish. One of my Jack Russells loved it to. And yes I did go on it now and again with the kids and it was fucking knackering.

Remember years ago when they used to come around with aerial photos of your house selling them door to door? Anyway this shows the pinch point at the corner of my house, plenty of room in the garden but poor access.
-
24 years ago when I bought the house I had the front garden paved for parking, we can get 3 cars out there comfortably 4 at a squeeze but to get around the back is a pinch point as we live in the corner of a square. I intend to build a bike shed in line with the gate opening so it should be user friendly for me and the maid to get out bikes in and out.

Today I have mostly be widening my back gate to make access for bikes more manageable. I increased the opening from 33” to 41.5”. My theory is that I will be able to get my Hornet through with bar end mirrors fitted. Funnily enough I used to be able to get my R100RS through the 33” opening with care looking back it seems impossible now but I know I could and did often. Fuck me timber has become expensive. Love on the invoice you get 4” x 4” x 2.4 m post sizes. That’s British common sense right there Before Had to dig down through the 70 year old concrete path with my wood pecker of a breaker. To be fair when I was working as a gardener handy man I went through several of them over the years but they are surprisingly capable and were cheap as chips to replace. At the time a decent brand small breaker was £300 and this Aldi special was £30 and for the odd job like today it was a no brainier. After gate stretched and rehung. I am going to be redoing much of the garden over the summer and once that is completed I will get a couple of bags of chipping to put down to tidy things up.

Working tonight, singing up at Lanivet on Saturday night and working Sunday overnight, I am nothing if not predictable

Not like that where I live thankfully.

I was looking at those on Amazon, £37 a pair. I like the idea of bar ends but they make getting the bike through the back gate awkward. Mind you I can always widen the gate to suit.
