If you have an iphone MacOs will seem very familiar to you the icons will be the same, as Buckerster says use the iCloud account you already have and you will be surprised how well they integrate and work together, contacts, calendar, notes and stuff. Same with Google or Safari or whatever browser you use. Save all your stuff to icloud drive. Only real difference to Windows is using the Finder button to find files pictures and stuff, on the taskbar. Normally at the top or far left blue and white face sort of icon. Also all your programmes will be either on the taskbar or in Launchpad. Give it a couple of days and you probably won't notice the difference.

It’s going along with the Bond base type theme. Have a look at the build videos he has been at it for a couple of years. Very impressive work

That is identical to mine, you won’t be disappointed for the money. Just got to get used to MacOS now. It will be ok Chrome works identically. Make sure you set yourself up an ICloud account and keep all your files in the cloud. You will never lose you stuff ever again. Get yourself a decent hard shell case to protect it and you will be good for years. https://ebay.us/m/lnowyw

The newer M chipped Macs have Apples own CPU Arm Architecture processor. It uses much less power and produces much less heat so runs cooler. Doesn’t need a fan in the MacBook Air so gives a massive increase in efficiency and battery life. Also it is massively faster in the way it works. Without getting super geeky it transforms the way you use your MacBook. Not needing to be charged during the working day. I take my MacBook to work with me on a Friday and don’t need to charge it again until the following Tuesday. Of course others will use the things differently but they will still run up to 18 hours between charges. Sounds abstract until you actually live with it. Game changer for most. Also one thing I notice with my MacBook Air is that they have really improved the speakers. Much better quality.

Similar story with my 2009 Macbook Pro, on it's third battery, ram upgrade and SSD upgrade and that's about it in 15 years. Not that ram and SSD's can be touched on newer models. My 2014 Macbook Pro is still on original everything but it has spent most of it's life plugged in. You are in for a pleasant surprise when you do get and apple silicon M chipped Macbook. Kermit 2009 MacBook Pro. Browsing this morning. Slow now but still pretty and functional.

Once you go Mac there’s no going back. Serious I switched from Dell around 2009 and just got used to not having to replace the hardware every 2 or 3 years. I still have the 2009 MacBook Pro and with a couple of upgrades it’s still going strong. . You do still want newer kit though Oh and I do still have a Windows 10 lappy and desktop kicking around although I haven’t turned them on in months. If it weren’t for all the old documents I have in Microsoft Office format, my mums sermons and such I probably would have got rid.

I not anti the Intel Macs its just in Lappy's they have limited battery life and crappy speakers. Work just fine. My Mac Mini is intel as is my Macbook Pro. Plus the Apple Silicon ones scorch them in terms of performance. And yes my desk is a tip.

Apple offer 0% interest if that interests you, I know I'll get me coat

That's a very good deal, looking at it in detail.

Nope and Nope, to old won't run the latest Mac OS and overpriced IMHO. Also that generation Macbooks won't have the battery life of a M Apple Silicon one. One of the reasons to stay away from Intel macs is the processors run hot so need a fan running which munches through the battery in 2 to 3 hours. Thats often the case with New PC laptops even now. Apple Silicon Macs will run up to 18 hours sometimes more on one charge, no fan, negates the need to carry a charger with you. Also they have much better speakers. This is a good deal. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/157278537481?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D291640%2C291402%26meid%3Dcaf20adcd0004a1daf38545f84d074cd%26pid%3D101875%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D157278531467%26itm%3D157278537481%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2332490%26algv%3DSimVIDwebV3WithCPCExpansionEmbeddingSearchQuerySemanticBroadMatchSingularityRecallReplaceKnnV4WithVectorDbNsOptHotPlRecallCIICentroidCoviewCPCAutoEnabledCassiniRecallCache%26brand%3DApple&_trksid=p2332490.c101875.m1851&itmprp=cksum%3A157278537481caf20adcd0004a1daf38545f84d074cd|enc%3AAQAKAAABkFFq%2Fq3EDGh0yHpGYYMHul3ouffnB39iSruwTx8%2BJH9NEsRp%2BPTrrxcWMxtbVqGeID1hUP%2BoWQJ1jy%2B3PnimyU1zvH8E6ZtiOs14nVQCY9knA4bd4YwHmVAvg7I0w3jDPEgWZFuTxGPgBykA166XBmbaWOg9%2Fc8S6LzdxDn4CxI9AZ1oVZLWZKpxoL7ZxKj0IgVQ2vYYE3NJdqIDKpvVNWFNOKzebvIPQRSkPrN7UESUCTW%2FL0aBBwq9j98dxExwoqyzaDx1gldu3cJJY%2BbVaeyM%2FolTc626OWZxfNLsTZ69yASgiqQ6qNeh%2BFmyUwLK%2Fk0FZeOt2Tw8mIb94w56wi1EItvQWrHU9Rz3L876wfzLeXbm9zQbSfbSQ26f2gpZN5lD7xd5qSzJauoDmahREH7Jkc83KcjDrhBiEq4SFnY8Fxw1rf%2B0%2FHK2%2FnH8shgaT22a1bkJcILKVReC%2Bw0Oy2BUT4SXoJ5%2Bm%2BvVB9%2B%2FDg2lhaogRjh%2FVsqW5ZgPYJFdlBQxn9w4bv%2Fmu58oN2S502g%3D|ampid%3APL_CLK|clp%3A2332490&epid=12054573521&itmmeta=01K3RVP1HRT7S1VS8QFSBBW5FE Put it in a case and you would never see the marks on it plus a guarantee. £300 to £400 would get you a decent usable M1 but obviously will be used. I looked in Currys today and they are doing brand New M4 Macbook Airs for £850 which is a good deal.

Either Macbook Air or Macbook Pro. Both very very good. Must be Apple Silicon and look for 16gb of ram. Apart from that it is just down to how much you want to spend. I bought a M1 (Apple Silicon) 16gb Macbook Air in 2020 and it hasn't missed a beat still going strong and still blisteringly quick. I think the current Macbook Airs are M4 and around £1K, not cheap but will last a long time. If you want a desktop, Mac Mini M4 is the way to go if you already have a decent monitor around £600. But you will need to buy a keyboard and mouse, not necessarily Apple. Imacs with built in monitors are great as well. All about what you want to spend. If you want to buy used just make sure you get Apple Silicon M1 through to M4. But to be honest I would buy a new one your money your choice. And if you are buying new go to Apple themselves from my personal experience it's just easyier and you will get the very latest kit. If you want me to check out anything that catches your eye send me a PM with a link. Anything with Pro after it will be better still but more money, worth it if you have a use for the power but the standard stuff is pretty good and better and longer lived than almost all PC/Intel type stuff. All of the above goes with the caveat that I am an Apple Geek and have been for a long time. I am still using a 2009 Macbook Pro regularly Oh and don't bother with intel Macs now not worth getting into, their shelf life is running out. I say that typing on and Intel Mac Mini I have had since 2018.

It was a really good show.

Video from last Thursdays show across the road from me.

Same story here. Next to no crime or vandalism in the town where I live (2500 population) but travel a few miles down the road and the story is different.

I’m probably washing my hair.

I would if you were my neighbour, bit of a long way to come for a clean though.

Bike Of The Month - August - Picture submission thread
Saul replied to Pedro's topic in GENERAL CHAT

Up early this morning and fancied playing bikes but mine are both clean and don’t need anything so had to look elsewhere. Both Shadow and How High were still a pit so I’ve had a happy morning turd polishing. Should have took some before shots. I must say it never fails to surprise me how resilient 125's are. Both bikes have been down several times but still going strong. Especially How Highs cause he is essentially clueless and maintenance is never high on the agenda. It only happens when his mates feel sorry for the bike or me as well now. Nice lad but clueless.
