I had the idea to mount some spotlights to the crash bars, which I may or may not do, just thinking. Not to worried about getting 3 point ones as I don't see myself doing any serious off roading to need that. Regarding the hand guards, a chap I work with has them on his Vstrom and swears by them for the winter. We were chatting about heated grips and he said to try hand guards first. I like them so far, but I also have some Oxford Rhino mitts that I bought for another bike that I never used, that I can try. Thats good to hear about your Himalayan, I know its early days but I am chuffed to bits with mine.

I remember back in the day you could get smaller rear plates for bikes in UK, is that still a thing or illegal now. No strong feelings about it just a passing thought I had today.

I like some of the RE crash helmets, he has, very funky.

Yeah they are RE ones. The only attach at one point so not for throwing over on really but they keep the wind and wet off your hands. I got them from India on ebay half the price you pay here. They came in a RE box and had the RE part numbers and Hologram on them so they see legit. Just ordered some RE crash bars from the same guy.

Ben interesting to see what it is like I have been thinking of something similar for my bike. I have one of those Lidl 12v compressors in my van that I use for the bike but good as it is, it's a bit bulky to cart around on my bike. You can get something similar on Amazon for £30 and I have a feeling it might be more practical to return anything faulty to Amazon.

Not really just some stick on decoration. I am quite partial to the look of knee pads if they do anything practical or even stay on is yet to be seen. Oh and if I have missed a bit cleaning it I don't really care

Fives days of commuting and the poor old Himalayan is filthy, guess I will be bike cleaning tomorrow which will probably last until I am back on shift Friday night. So tempted to lube the chain, check the tyre pressures and look the other way F

An atheist was seated next to a little girl on an airplane and he turned to her and said, "Do you want to talk? Flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger." The little girl, who had just started to read her book, replied to the total stranger, "What would you want to talk about?" " Oh, I don't know," said the atheist. "How about why there is no God, or no Heaven or Hell, or no life after death?" as he smiled smugly. "OK," she said. "Those could be interesting topics but let me ask you a question first. A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same stuff - grass. Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, but a horse produces clumps. Why do you suppose that is?" The atheist, visibly surprised by the little girl's intelligence, thinks about it and says, "Hmmm, I have no idea." To which the little girl replies, "Do you really feel qualified to discuss why there is no God, or no Heaven or Hell, or no life after death, when you don't know shit?" And then she went back to reading her book.

I am a Cornish Celt. I know this may trigger some, but diversity in the UK is not just about skin colour, and just a brief historical look into British history can be illuminating if anyone is interested. Just imagine telling a Welsh person they were not Celtic and just English really, we get that sort of abuse regularly. Not that I think there is anything wrong with being English its just I do not believe myself to be.

Yes I was born 7 miles from where I live now. In fact I sometimes work in the hospital I was born in.

Depends entirely where you are. Not a bigger issue than any other, to my knowledge, in rural Cornwall. Also one of my colleagues who rides a Vstrom has never had an issue on this site. No saying it's impossible but pretty unlikely.

Yes its a sleepy cottage hospital on the outskirts of town. We very rarely see anybody overnight and because of the main road were aren't on route to anywhere. Also got it alarmed.

Had my 3rd booster on the 12th , flu one booked for the 19th

Only about three years, I started with Kernow Health the Christmas before Covid, which was lucky as I self employed gardener before and that sort of work died instantly with the lockdowns.

We do carry Controlled Drugs and script pads so there is potential. Of course I am joking, in case my boss were ever to see this. The accounting procedures for CD's are tighter than a ducks backside for very good reason.

I am a driver/receptionist for the out of hours Doctor service (Kernow Health). When you ring 111 I am the Bod that gets the Dr to you with the right kit and drugs. I mainly work out of Launceston Hospital, but do also cover Stratton, Bodmin, Liskeard and St Austell. Typical NHS job very interesting and rewarding but pays Peanuts.

Not much happening for me,I work Nights and weekends. So off to Launceston Hospital Friday, Saturday, Sunday night. Not moaning good place to work. I am hoping to use the bike for the commute although I am not keen on pissing rain in the dark so we will have to see.

Yes Dameralls has been going for years. They used to be at Whitemoor but have moved to a bigger place out near Indian Queens now. I'll. take some pics next time I am there, it's a cool place. Always been a bit spendy there but you can get some good deals if you are prepared to wait. I do like that I get 10% discount on everything because I bought a bike there. They always have really good selection of bikes in their huge showroom. One little moan is that their workshop is always overbooked so it's never quick to get your bike in.
-
Anyone got any experience with one of these? I impulse bought it a couple of weeks ago and haven't got around to fitting it yet.

I remember those Kangols they made people look like they were Saltarens from Dr Who.

Thor is the only one local that doesn't have a cafe attached or on site here. Dameralls where my bike came from have a great burger bar attached and it is always busy. Makes the Dealership more of a ride destination if you can chill and have a drink or whatever.
