  1. I am like a cat now, always land feet down.
  2. Just finished watching Sherwood on BBC iplayer. Bloody brilliant, binge watched it in two nights. Worth a look if you like detective stuff and remember the Miners Strike.
  3. Are out of your fucking mind . I wouldn’t get on one of those things. No clutch. Anyway it would have to be a big fucker to carry me Also the bleddy thing was playing up today and wouldn’t do as it was told. Poor Chloe was in tears during her lesson as she got so frustrated. All good in the end but you would never get me on one ever.
  4. I was only messing with her mate, I didn't mind really. Up to your ankles in mud is part of rural life here and I suspect most places, now having the wrong shoes on in it could be a bit of a pisser

Just been messing on YouTube sorting some horse vids and came across this video of my old Chinky CG clone. I took this video for part of my for sale add and it shows the condition of the bike after 4 years and 12k miles of commuting. Just goes to show that Chinese stuff can last if it is looked after.
  6. I still dunno mate, the weather is just that here, part of life as is the warmer stuff where you are. I enjoyed some quality time with my youngest, she spent some quality time with her horse and had a jumping lesson. And from what I could tell the horse had some fuss, love and attention. Got to tear around the riding school like a mad thing and had a good workout. Nothing horrible about any of it to my mind.
  7. I dunno mate she was washed, brushed, fed, prepped and spent an hour in the riding school. Pretty much what they like.
  8. Stopped now mate Did have some pretty heavy showers this morning though.
  9. Got roped in to take my youngest riding this morning. Normally not my thing at all but sometimes you gotta do the Dad thing. Actually I quite enjoyed it although I will never admit it to her or I would be up the stables all the time and I just don’t have the time for it. Wish I did.
  10. I know we have been talking about the Honda CT125 and how good or crap we individually think it is, I thought it was relevant how good its grandad the C90 was off road green laning in this video. I remember being an L plate hero with loads of my mates mostly with small dirt bikes. One who was not as well fixed financially had a C90 his dad gave him. That C90 went everywhere we did, as demonstrated in the context of this video.

See that's the shocker I remember when the old lady in question bought the scoot new as she lived close to me and it was parked in the square where I live. I always thought it looked pretty nice when I saw her ride it or it had the cover off, obviously it got left when her health failed but apart from not being garaged it lead a charmed life. As I said I was shocked when I got it to bits and saw how bad it really was. I knew it needed a front master cylinder, battery and maybe tyres but thought a good clean and a polish would have it something like it, sadly mistaken. I sort of hope the newer stuff is better quality but I wouldn't bet on it.

    Rust

Talking about potential rust on some less than premium brand bikes I thought I would show you a project I abandoned very early on. A mate of mine gave me a Lexmoto Valencia twist and go scoot for my boy. We though it would get him on the road for a few hundred. The scoot belonged to his aunty who passed away and he just wanted it gone. So I went and got it and pushed it back home, he lives across the park from me. Like he said it was a bit rough but had only done 498 miles in his Aunts hands from new. I had a look over it when I got it back and was shocked by how much it had rusted. It did live outside under a cover but had seen no wet riding or road salt. First things first I wanted to hear it run before spending anything. There was a vacuum type pet cock that was locked shut and the carb was also locked up. I them connected a battery and got it running on brake cleaner. It sounded as sweet as a nut and wanted to run. All the electrical stuff worked. Anyway I thought get some air in the tyres, the tyre valve crumbled in my hand, I tried to get the wheel off and the axel was rusted solid. At this point it was obviously going to be a lost cause. Battery, Tyres, fuel system, brakes and god knows what else, just to get a functional rusty heap. So now it is garden art, I have been meaning to ask my mate if he wants it back but I reckon it will be going to the scrappy. The point I am getting to is these things need to be carefully looked after or they will dissolve before your eyes. Oh and the Dear Boy was on rat patrol.
  14. Yeah but it’s called a Spitfire and has a Union flag on it Judging by my chat with the owner I very much doubt it is ridden very far, apart from the odd bike night in the best of weather. I agree more mobile ornament than practical bike but I still liked it.

    Farkles

No, mirror extenders and right angle tyre valve adapters
  16. I can see that CCM would be an acquired taste, in fact I was ambivalent towards them until I saw it up close. I just loved it, looked to be beautifully put together, more work of art than hack. Sounded good to. Expensive without doubt, the owner told me that CCM send a mobile workshop van to his house when it needs servicing. Can’t imagine that would be budget friendly.

I think I have a farkle problem, I don’t even remember ordering these
  18. I reckon that's an interesting review. I am sure you could run a Mash it would just need more attention than you would probably want to give a winter hack. Budget for a compressor and buy ACF50 or similar by the gallon. You could get a Honda CL500 for £500 more. Or get a really nice low miles Dominator, XT, DR, KL or even MZ Mastiff if it had to be a single with some time and effort.
  19. I must admit I do like the look of the X-Ride but what put me off was looking at one closely at Thor motorcycles. They have two there a white and a black. The black one sits in the porch which can be blown with a bit of weather during the day. There was rust on it everywhere, and as far as I know it has never been ridden in the rain or salt this rust is just from spending time under cover of the porch. Now I know you can deal with this I ran a Chinky 125 to commute on for 4 years and used a lot of ACF50, there was next to no rust on it when I sold it with 12k on the clock but I bought it for £700 in a box so I didn't expect much. For over 5k I would expect much more.
  20. Perfect day, no work, fixed my bike, rode my bike, singing tonight.
  21. Because they sell lots of em mate.
