I've never met any of them.
The only ones I've met on here.......despite the fact I go back nearly 20 years with many of the others is Renegade, Busboy, Pedro, Cupid, Dellboy, Yen Powell, And Peter O.
A client of mine (estate agent here.....very upmarket)......did a test.
Came back 95% English........and 5% Welsh! He was fucking devastated! ?
So he's been contacting all the family members he can trying to find where this 5% came from! ?
My missus is Swansea born, Welsh mother......but English father!
So to wind her up I'll say......"Well you could claim to be English if you wanted to".
I then get the death stare and the Swansea voice...."Come by yere and I'll fucking smack you in the face if you start you twat!"
At that point I know she's a real Welsh girl! Uncouth as fuck!
Never done one Alan........I don't trust them one bit.
All I can find (from papers my old girl had years ago) was that 3 generations back on both sides were all Welsh......and virtually all from what was Glamorganshire......mainly Swansea area.
Couple of Denbighshire from my great grandparents on my mother's side though.
Though there is a bit of Romany and Jew in that lot it has to be said.......but still Welsh!
Knowing that and then getting a test result telling me me I'm mainly English, or Italian, or Swedish would be fucking ridiculous!
We're just starting out.......so any content is good content Russ.
It's the content that will get us up on the Google search results.
Since @BusBoy put up his sailing report we're now featuring quite prominently in the Maritime search results.
It's all about business! The manufacturers are selling an image.....like the Harley Lifestyle for example.
But as I've always said.....the bike doesn't make the man, it's the man that makes the bike.
I never judge people on the bike they have........more on what they actually do with the bike.
So in principle any bike can be an adventure bike!
I've spoken to people about this place and some have said......"I don't have an Adventure Motorcycle".
My opinion is it's more about what you do WITH the bike rather than the bike itself.
Look at all the GS's with the dustbins that never go anywhere for example........while there's people riding round the world on Honda 90's.
So I'd say if you're getting out doing trips (on or off road), visiting places of interest (not the local bike meet up), and doing it all by motorcycle......then by definition it's an adventure motorcycle!
I think they were made in Thailand weren't they?
The Strom was built in the Suzuki factory in Toyokawa!
Which is in JAPAN as I understand it!
Oh look.......there's the factory......no doubt full of inscrutable Japs!
I'd say that's an excuse for Suzuki ownership in my book!
Yeh.......very sad about Six's father! He was apparently in very good health and used to swim 3 times a week. But it still got him.
Glad to hear you're on the mend.......and I'd say the Triumph is a wiser choice than the Harley. By far!
Hi Dave!
So the rest of you know, Dave's a friend of mine from another forum.
And he's in the process of recovering from Covid-19!
How you feeling Dave?
