No contest! 1972 Kawasaki 900 Z1A. I was at the bike show in London in 1972 when it was unveiled! For an 18 year old with a Suzuki 250 Hustler to see this was mindblowing! Biggest regret was I never owned one.....I just couldn't afford it.......it was about 1250 quid otr. I didn't even earn that in a year! I test rode one though......I just couldn't believe the power it had for the time.

I started with 2 scooters, then 2 Brit bikes (one 3 speed, one 4 speed both RH gearchange and RH kickstart) and then a Jap which was 6 speed LH gearchange and LH kickstart. All within my first year of riding!

That's how Brit bikes always were! And the Commando was one up three down!
