  1. I've certainly done my bit in this department, assisted by Bob. But now we've drawn a blank. Can somebody change their bike to keep the momentum going?
  2. Bozo has let slip that if Truss gets in he'll be controlling her and that he'll be back as PM within a year!
  3. Check the map again going out via Las Santas and La Sagra!
  4. I have.....got it here now! But this one is so old and thin and full of holes it's the coolest option.
  5. You're not going to want to hear this.....but this bike is fucking brilliant. So good in fact I even did a review here! But for now you can relive the trauma of me sweating my fucking nuts off at San Clemente! While you lot just sit on the board all day trolling, Rugged Individualists like me get shit done! Scorched Earth everywhere you look now...... Made my way up to the lake...... Contender for BOTM I'd say...... The water's getting lower all the time now! When I first came here most of the banks were underwater..... That pier is where the bike was to get my BOTM pic.....not that any of you hateful wankers will vote for it of course! Then back down from the lake on the Castril road...... And just more Scorched Earth as far as the eye can see! The harsh reality is that you fucking Blowhards wouldn't last two minutes here! Stick to having a cup of tea and a bun at your local cafe with the other wankers!
  6. I've made no secret of the fact that I love this bike! If you look at the specs on paper it doesn't look up to much (same could be said for the Strom as well).....but the reality is actually very different. I'm no journo (what you say Mawsley?) so I'll just list out how I find it. And below my points is a short vid review by Neevesy at MCN.....who is a very highly respected bike journo! So here's my opinion..... Ultra smooth quiet motor, effortless slipper clutch, handling and brakes are very good, and perfect ergonomics when you sit on it, The build quality is excellent with very thick and wide handlebars which you don't have to reach forward for! Initially they didn't feel particularly high, but once you get used to them it's actually a perfect riding position. It's a couple of kg heavier than the 650GS but it feels lighter and physically smaller. Which is a benefit if you're not as young as you were. Very easy to balance when stationary. It's tractable and is quite happy at 60kph/37mph in sixth gear (showing 2.1L per 100km fuel consumption) without any lugging, and will then pull well from that point with a very linear power delivery. People will say it's only 48bhp so it's slow! Well "slow" is a very subjective thing! It actually feels like it has more bhp than that. It's certainly far quicker than any of my XT's and is probably on a par (or a bit quicker) than the G650GS. And with a fuel consumption of 70-90mpg it's cheap motorcycling. Now if you want a bike with character and a bit of excitement then it's not for you. It's just a typical Honda......somewhat soulless and very practical, but you just know you can trust it with your life! Total peace of mind! I'll be honest with you, I'd virtually given up all hope of finding a bike that was exactly what I wanted. If I wanted to keep riding I thought I'd just have to get by with the best alternative I could find.......and then I came across the CB500X. If you're an older rider downsizing due to age then this is the bike for you. You're not going to impress people with this, and you're not going to turn any heads or have people coming up admiring it. But you'll get where you want to go comfortably, with no fuss or drama! And it won't cost you a fortune to do it either! The reality of it is that this bike will probably outlive nearly everybody on this forum. Over to Neevesy.....does he disagree?
  7. Pics are better now.....pity about the sad POS tractor in them though!
  8. Why are your pics so small Caroline?
  9. But Marcel's coming from behind!
  10. ......and it didn't take him long to depose @Buckster from the top spot! Just hoping he doesn't go batshit crazy again! What you say @Tym?
  11. Looks like I'm the only one on here! I suppose you're all out riding then?
  12. Looks good Bob! I just checked the weight and it's around 209kgs as standard so that's pretty manageable!
  13. Nail on head Marcel! I can see you winning MOTY this year! Just a question......you've been on here since May.....what do you think of this place so far? And do you think it's similar in some ways to the old days back on MB......or is it different?
  14. Got out for an hour at 9.30.....it was already 33c! This bike is fucking brilliant......runs like a watch. More air in the front tyre has improved the turn-in a lot, plus I'm getting more used to it now so it's just a matter of modifying my riding style to suit this one after 20 months on the 650GS. I didn't have time to get used to the 1200GS because the POS was always fucked, so my comparison will always be with the 650GS. Talking of fucked bikes, I can report that there were no oil leaks, brake failures, strange whirring sounds and flashing warning lights from the dashboard, or engine spluttering. Yes.....it's what people term a boring Honda! I've had 14 of them and they were all boring......in the sense that they always worked flawlessly and never gave any issue whatsoever. At my age I'll settle for boring!
