Guess you've gleaned by now its a collaboration. Made in India, owned by an Indian company and designed using some of the better British end of things. I still have the 9T and I see why that would have thrown you off, soz about that, I just don't see them in the same class at all. The 9T might be BMWs offering of a retro bike but doesn't look like the old 90 or any old bike, its looks and power are far more modern than the plod along classics they're reviving. I liked the 9T when I first saw it but was surprised they were selling it with a retro tag when it only nods in that direction. Then the price tag and the build quality of BMW (Petes donkey aside) to me is in a different ball park.

Well I’m excited about it. I don’t think I’ll have any trouble moving it on if I’m not taken with it.

Yer multimillionaire Mahindra. Made me wary about handing over deposit. Norton.. house of glass. Sat on one at the NEC it’s quite a lump!

The write ups are good but bike journos fawn over almost everything don’t they, they have to or no-one would give them a bike to review https://www.motorcyclenews.com/amp/news/new-bikes/2022-bsa-gold-star/

I have trouble staying in slow mode and like a good bit of bhp. The problem I have is that although they can be ridden slowly it only takes one overtake or squirt to pull into a gap in the traffic and boom I’m no longer in genteel mode. The bike lifts, your internal organs feel briefly weightless, your hearts in your mouth and a cackle comes from somewhere deep inside that makes you wonder if your related to the devil, its not something I can resist. So it’s a Sunny Sunday afternoon bike for a chilled bimble. Bought on looks alone. Could be a complete donkey. If it is it’ll make a good piece of art.

Hehehe. Even I’m not that daft. Although it’s kinda close so maybe I am

Not quite. Would love vintage British, don’t want the work involved in keeping it on the road.

Had to look that up!

Very close.

Soz fell asleep, all this fresh airs knackering. Single cylinder. It’s not Japanese Its not European Would love a Ducati but no it’s not a Ducati.

Yer got that, Pete that was ages ago

I feel I may get slaughtered for getting another bike but I have good reason. 1. I always wanted one of these. 2. It was offered as a birthday gift (and what idiot turns down the gift of a bike?). 3. I don’t own anything (ish) in this category. 4. It’s pretty.

As you happen to ask yesterday I paid a deposit on something… I’ve not even test ridden it. I just NEEDED it. It could be a doozy of a thread cos it’s not expected til mid October at the earliest! Let’s do it ‘Guess Who’ style. I reckon you’ll nail it pretty quick, then you can start slating it
