  1. Too tall for my short arse self. I've been racking my brain trying to remember what the hell the little light bike was that @Sir Fallsalot recommended so I don't have to ask for a third time
  2. Two weeks.. and bog off, no-one can follow your ride report, it's like being next on stage after a killer act to find you get booed off
  3. ps the second one is cheaper than the first cos you don't have to buy a lot of stuff and have already taken the hit of losing a second income.
  4. But you'll get yourself something else?
  5. Yer thought you'd approve, that's Julie Cool Terrorist's bike. She spent the week before I arrived riding with Dai Jones cos she's thinking about doing the mini mondo.
  6. I'm left wondering how you would know?
  7. Jesus I'm not looking forward to returning on Saturday. The aircons on 24 degrees and I'm cold Oh it's alright, I've had a look and it's only a drop of 14 degrees compared to here
  8. Yer but you could go the whole hog and resurrect that charming 80's style bike jacket you loved to death. I can see it now 'Time Travel Biker' a straight to Freeview B movie. A cult classic in the making. Yes I'm aware someone (probably Busabeast) will be changing the L in cult for an N
  9. Yer I don't think Keiss is the best out there, it was just the cheapest well reviewed I knew about at the time. If I'd known how useful it was going to be I wouldn't have minded paying more. Having said that the Keiss stuff is still trucking along 6 years later.
  10. Dont forget click and collect. It's a lot easier explaining away things they haven't seen Amazon same day delivery nearly killed me, all the stuff turning up on the same day, not a good look, might be better for the wider environment but its not better for the environment I have to live in when it looks like Santa's been early
  11. Thought they might be. Topbox, engine guards and a rip off version of bark busters perchance?
  12. I should probably get shot of mine before the new ones released. Who's gonna want 24.5 bhp when the new one far more usefully puts out just short of 40?!
  13. You gotta nip that in the bud, monies will be needed for farkles!
  14. Takes a minute or two to narrow down what you want out of a bike doesn't it. But the answers often more power Quite bored with the Himalayan now just because of it's lack of power on an overtake. Thing is whilst I'm fond of it I'm really not bothered about leaving it exposed to the elements in airport parking and it's simple enough that with YouTubes help I can fix most problems myself. Considered bringing the Bandit out here but they have a reputation for tatty paintwork and mines in excellent nick so I'd spend too much time wondering if the Spanish sun and desert sands were battering it to pieces!
  15. It beggars belief really doesn't it. If somewhere is in a convenient location you're gonna go in and see for yourself regardless of what anyone says. Not confirming the offer in an email stinks, it's got a whiff of stitch up straight ahead!
  16. A bike for fun times then. My favourite kind of bike. Not saying the more power you have the more fun it is but yer thats exactly what I'm saying So this is the third bike in just a year, keep this up and you'll overtake Pete in how many bikes you've owned
  17. Got the Keiss heated body warmer and rarely use it now just cos the sub zero artic suit is so warm. But before I had that I used it a lot from end October right through to May. That and heated grips was the difference between staying out and enjoying the ride and going home. Mr Slowly also has the body warmer and uses his all the time. He likes that its relatively thin so doesn't take up much packing space and fits under normal bike gear (so long and its not tight fitting stuff), it does exactly what its say it does (rather that the usual over promising) and has the advantage that unlike bulky layers or suits like the one I use when you get warm enough you simply switch it off. The disadvantage I found was forgetting you're plugged in and walking into a petrol station to the sound of a twanging lead being ripped from it's socket, but even though I did that more times than I can count it still didn't break.
  18. Feel the same about the Triumph dealer in Somerset 'Total Triumph' the woman who was in there was a miserable see you next Tuesday, said lots of negative crap to me. So much so I left and went to Brizzle!
  19. The last remaining rider left yesterday. Exhausting, but good times were had. After 14 consecutive days riding and 2500 miles (ish) down I am ready for a rest! The Himalayan was flawless (although unsurprisingly boringly slow on the overtake ) and I ran into problems when I discovered lowering it less than 2cm meant I couldn't lean far enough into the sharp inclined pyrenean bends without the centre stand fighting the tarmac, after a bit of swearing off that came but then the side stand decided to take over the scraping That meant slower on the sharp left bends than right Gonna have to get the side stand shortened. Now I'm ready to sit in the sun for a couple of days. Dipped in the mediterranean sea today which was lovely and warm. Might visit the Nerja Caves tomoz as they are only 20ish mins from here and it's been on my list for a while. Might even try to take a pic. I have as usual failed on that front.. too busy enjoying myself Did manage a few photos. A few off the balcony of little house we rented for a couple of nights, a lovely sight to wake up to! Couldn't find any accommodation in one place and it was starting to look we might be sleeping on our bikes but a MotoGp mechanic stepped up and invited us to stay, they had some great stories. We got invited for dinner with Austin Vince (as they were in the same area) but declined cos we were far too knackered to be any fun. Waved off my last guest yesterday who's meeting up with Steph Jeavons for some trail riding. All in all in was an excellent trip. The Pyrenees are worth a week or two of anyones time. I realise this should probably be in the ride report section but now I've typed it all here I can't be arsed to move it
