We got our water bill in the other day, it was eye watering! Still can't work out how we were supposed to use that amount of water! There doesn't appear to be a leak in the supply to the house and we've not got any leaks in the house, so I've no idea where that water has gone!

My missus phoned our doctors on Wednesday for an appointment, we've just been this afternoon and it wasn't an emergency visit, she just needed a repeat prescription and to ask him about a couple of other things. The health service is being deliberately run down in the UK now and has been for some while!

I had an Octavia Vrs estate many years ago and I really liked it. The boot was huge. The only problem with it was that it was the diesel engined one and it didn't like a lot of town driving. The DPF would choke up and sometimes I just couldn't regenerate it. Other than that it was a good car.

Its official name was Debut des Tonneaux, but I thought that may be too much for you guys! . Soirée just means evening, but it's what we used to call any evening piss-up when I was in the UK. Maybe that was just in the posh parts like wot I came from?

Well, that was the end of the Christmas cake! All the Christmas crap has gone now, so I guess that we'll be back to the boring food again! Anyway, we went to a soirée in the village last evening. The had a duo playing music and various stalls selling food and drink. We had a few beers and something to eat before the cold got the better of us and we came home for a few more beers. It was a good evening though. I think that it was the first time that they've laid on something this early in the year. Maybe they were testing the water to see how it went before trying anymore events outside the summer months.
