Castle An Dinas

I thought I would take the chance for ride before Storm Agnes gets here tonight.   Pretty warm around 19c.   I had my winter jacket and was bloody hot at times.

There is a very similar Iron Age for near Fowey called Castle D’or but that has cattle on it so it’s dodgy to go there.

There is a stunning view from Castle An Dinas.   You can see Dartmoor in the far distance and all of Goss moor much closer.   Also have a good view of the Clay Pits over at Greensplat.   The A30 and much else.     Made me wish I had a drone or better camera.

After my walk I rode past Dameralls on the way home.   They seem to be stocking up again.   I liked the AT they had there and a nice 2012 T100 Bonnie.
Also 3 CB500X’s and 2 Transalps in stock.
They Also had a X-Cross 1200 DCT but that thing was huge.

Lovely pics, thanks.

Castle D’or Sounds like a Aldi ice-cream😂

It does but I guess because it is the Legendary home of Tristan and Isolde/Iseult.  Prolly fairy tales but it is that place.  🙂

The road sign says Castledore, but like a lot of place names it was changed to sound less foreign.  There is a stone with an ancient inscription on it telling the tail of Tristan and Isolde/Iseult less than a mile from where I live.    It was moved from Castle D'or a long time ago, it was once in the centre of 4Turnings roundabout but they decided having a bloody great granite pillar in the centre of a mini roundabout was dangerous thing in the 1950's.   I'll take some pictures if anyone is the slightest bit interested.

That is an outstanding amount of art and literature off just two people falling in love!

Simplest tale that engages both genders and all ages.    I think that a lot of history was originally wrapped up in romance to engage the reader at a base level while also to getting the point across.

I think it’s baser than that, sex, lies and greed are the cornerstones of all stories that engage. We’re really not as civilised as we like to think we are 😂

You are of course right, I think I was being too polite by saying romance.  🤣🤣🤣
