Took the Dear Boy out for a walk along Fowey Golf Links, an old disused golf course that was donated to the people of Fowey to enjoy.    Bit damp but lovely to be out there.

On the loop we walked past St Catherine’s  Castle and the surviving block house that comprises what is left of the Towns Elizabethan defences.   There were two large mounted cannons in the castle covering the river mouth.

The block house on the others side of the river originally had a twin on the Fowey side.    There was a massive chain strung between the two that was raised to stop any ships entering the harbour.    Apparently it is still on the river bed and sections of it can still be seen.   Or so I have been told by a mate who is in Fowey Diving club.

We finished the walk by going passed the old Golf course keeper’s cottage then up Love Lane to the main road and home.
There is a tail about Love Lane that mainly consists of the local landed gentry shagging someone he shouldn’t.

There is a squirrel further up the lane taunting the dog who is too old and slow to catch the little twat and he knows it.
