It's only 400 miles away but it's about a 7,000 foot elevation drop; thus the higher temps.

On Wednesday, I'm riding to Kansas. It'll be about 4C when I leave home and around 40C when I get to my destination in Kansas; pretty big temperature swing.

I'd be afraid to ride across town on a Guzzi....at any age.

At my old job, I rode lots of multi-state rides to attend meetings rather than flying there. IF tghe meeting was in an area thatr I wanted to ride to, I just headed there the weekend before the meeting on the bike. Rode to Connecticut and upstate New York a couple of times and did Chicago often on the bike.

Hi Bruce - welcome! Everytime I ride my bike it seems it's an adventure of some sort. Doesn't have to be off road or around the World - could be a nip down to the shops.

Same here - dunno why they put some greasy assed cheese all over stuff. I like it sometimes, but usually scrape about 1/2 of it off. The side dishes with the ribs are always left alone and untouched. It's enough of a job just to kill the ribs & beers for me. Don't like the coleslaw and cinnamon apples either.

I think that I like the smell of bbq more than the taste. Couple of large, cold beers and some ribs is perfect for me.

On my solo trips, I usually arrive at the hotel late, shower and just get a pizza delivered. We don't have any delivery of food where I live so it's a real treat to get food delivered. Shacked up at a Marriott somewhere in Oklahoma...
